Chris Masters Life

Christopher Todd Mordetzky (born January 8, 1983) is an American professional wrestler.

He is known for his work with WWE under the ring name Chris Masters.

He is also known for his work in Impact Wrestling under the ring name Chris Adonis. After being trained in Ultimate Pro Wrestling, Mordetzky signed a develoment contract with WWE and was sent to WWE's farm territory Ohio Valley Wrestling.

In 2005, he debuted in WWE as "The Masterpiece" Chris Masters, a wrestler in a great body shape, using "The Masterlock" as finisher, a full nelson hold.

During his early career in WWE, Masters had a storyline around the Masterlock, a submission nobody could break.

He would challenge several wrestlers to the Masterlock Challenge, where he rewarded the winner with a prize if they could break it.

The Masterlock Challenge storyline ended after Bobby Lashley broke the hold on March 20, 2006.

He was released in 2007 and worked on the independent circuit for two years, making his return to WWE in 2009.

Masters would spend the next two years in WWE until he was released again in 2011.

Since then, he has worked on the independent circuit and had notable stints in Global Force Wrestling (GFW) and Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA).

Early life

Christopher Todd Mordetzky was born on January 8, 1983 in Santa Monica, California to Diane Mordetzky.

Personal life

Mordetzky is of Polish and Jewish ancestry. He has stated that The Ultimate Warrior and Shawn Michaels were two of his favorite wrestlers while growing up. When asked what it was like wrestling Michaels, Mordetzky replied, "It was a dream come true. That's something I'll take with me to my grave. He was my childhood idol, I idolize the guy, and I still trip out that I got to wrestle him on a pay-per-view. How many people get to do that? How many people get to wrestle their idol?"

Mordetzky claims that the biggest misconception that most people have about him is that he's just a bodybuilder.

John Cena went on record to say that Chris Masters is the strongest competitor he has faced in his career. Though Masters never defeated Cena in the ring, Masters defeated Cena in an arm wrestling match. Masters put Cena out in the Master Lock hold on three separate non-match occasions. Masters is one of only two competitors (the other being Rusev) to bring John Cena to unconsciousness once, let alone three times as he did.

Mordetzky is good friends with WWE wrestlers Randy Orton, Bobby Lashley and Shelton Benjamin, along with WWE alumni John Morrison, Carlito, Chavo Guerrero Jr., and Rob Van Dam. Mordetzky has appeared on both Van Dam's radio show RVD-Radio and internet-based reality television show RVD-TV. The Wrestling Observer reported that Vince McMahon only re-hired Masters in 2009 at the recommendation of Randy Orton.

A tweet posted to his Twitter profile in March 2013 stated that Mordetzky saved his mother's life from a criminal who had committed arson at her home. It was reported that he had pulled a 10 foot (3.0 m) tree from the ground with his bare hands and used it to open a path to his mother's windows, freeing her.

Chris Masters Career

Professional wrestling career

Mordetzky started training for a wrestling career in Ultimate Pro Wrestling at the age of 16. He trained there for one year but sustained an injury, putting him out of action for three months. Mordetzky learned that WWE was recruiting talent from the University of upw, and that he took time off from wrestling for nearly three years to focus on a muscular physique that would be of interest to World Wrestling Entertainment.

His work paid off as WWE gave him a developmental deal in 2003, including training him at the Ohio Valley Wrestling (OVW). He developed his wrestling skills and refined his character at OVW, winning medals in both singles and tag team divisions. When Mordetzky was called up to the main roster, WWE debating him as "The Masterpiece," implying that his body was made out of stone. Mordetzky praises Matt Morgan for designing the "Masterpiece" gimmick, and Vince McMahon says he was compelled to imitate former wrestler Paul Orndorff.

"The Masterpiece" Chris Masters made his WWE debut on Raw as a villain, bringing attention to his bodybuilding poses during his first appearance in the ring. Masters made his debut on Raw's February 21, 2005 episode by defeating Stevie Richards. During the competition, Masters broke Richards' nose while playing the Polish Hammer. The Polish Hammer continued to be a signature move of Masters' for months after this first match, but with the caution that it would only be used in striking an opponent's chest.

Masters said that his Master Lock, which he dubbed the Master Lock, was unbreakable. Masters began a series of challenges where Masters will face an enemy in the Master Lock and the challenger will try to break free before Masters made him submit or pass out. Masters will post more complete nelson submission victories than any wrestler in WWE history, beating Kurt Angle's record. Originally, he would call out plants from the crowd, giving everyone a $1,000 reward of his own money if they could break free from the Master Lock. In a Master Lock Challenge, he defeated Melissa Coates at Backlash. Val Venis and Sgt. He was embroiled in feuds with lower-card wrestlers Val Venis and Sgt. Slaughter, a murderer who both failed to crack the Master Lock, was sluggish. He often assaulted the wrestlers ahead and often cheated, using a low-blow to get out of Sgt). The cobra of slaughter is a common sense of cobra. Masters' payout each week increased to $20,000, although others withheld a bonus. Masters defiantly said, "it doesn't matter how big they are!" after defeating the 400-pound Rosey on July 18, who then said, "it doesn't matter how big they are!" "This has caused The Big Show to accept a Master Lock Challenge." Masters fled from a match with the Big Show due to his vil appearance.

Masters became feud with Shawn Michaels in late August, resulting in a tag match between himself and Carlito against Ric Flair and Michaels. Masters defeated Ric Flair by submission during the tournament. Masters collaborated with Carlito on a regular basis, but in a tense company relationship. On September 5, Michaels took part in a Master Lock Challenge. The masters, who were angered by Michaels' adamant resistance, called the hold and beat him with a steel chair before re-applying. The Master Lock Challenge, which had not decided a clear winner between the two teams, culminated in a match at Unforgiven which Michaels won.

SmackDown's Masters, as well as fellow Raw wrestler Edge, was one of several wrestlers to "invade" the SmackDown. The SmackDown team is gearing up for the match! Survivor Series on Survivor.com has both raw and vegan brands. The two wrestled Rey Mysterio, resulting in a tag match against Mysterio and Matt Hardy on Tuesday. Edge did not attend, so the Masters joined Edge's replacement, Gene Snitsky, to work with Edge's replacement. When Mysterio pinned Masters, both Masters and Snitsky lost. Masters of Survivor Series II defeated SmackDown in a five-on-five Survivor Series match at Survivor Series. Raw wrestlers and Raw wrestlers. Bobby Lashley, who "powered out" of the hold, appeared to be near-breaking in the Master Lock during the match. As the hold was not completely locked in, the "Master Lock" had not been broken, but not entirely broken. Rey Mysterio disqualified Masters of the University of Massachusetts.

After a match and requiring him to leave with the Master Lock, the Masters set his sights on WWE Champion John Cena. This brought about a Triple Threat Submission Match for the November 28 edition of Raw, with Cena defending his title against Masters and Kurt Angle, with whom he had already clashed. The plan was to put Cena at a major disadvantage and promise a new champion; the ankle lock was used as a submission finisher; Cena did not use a submission hold as part of his repertoire at the time. On the other hand, Cena was victorious by allowing Masters tap out to his new submission finisher, the STFU.

During Eric Bischoff's mock trial on December 5 of Raw, with WWE Chairman Vince McMahon as judge, Masters portrayed the role of a bailiff. After being summoned to appear in Bischoff's defense, he was asked to reveal his name, which he did, and he said his name was Chris Masters. As McMahon broke kayfabe and said that the Masters' real name was Chris Mordetzky, he was immediately accused of perjury and disqualified as a witness.

Chris Masters defeated Viscera on an episode of Raw on December 12 to earn a spot in John Cena's Elimination Chamber match at New Year's Revolution. Viscera was shown to be too large to be cinch on the Master Lock without being grounded. On the December 26 episode of Raw, Masters met Chavo Guerrero in a Beat the Clock match to determine who would be the final entrant to be released from his pod in the Elimination Chamber. Masters had to beat Guerrero in 5 minutes and 56 seconds, which was Michaels' record (when he defeated Snitsky in the show's opening match). Guerrero was able to beat the clock because of the Master Lock's long enough. Masters was barred from the Elimination Chamber match after Carlito double-crossed him by dropping a low blow while holding Cena in the Master Lock and then using a roll-up for the pin at New Year's Revolution (which also took place on Masters' 23rd birthday). Kurt Angle and Shawn Michaels were in a tag match against two men who were also struggling on January 9, after some tense words with Carlito. Michaels walked backstage during the match, leaving Angle to fend for himself. Masters saw the opportunity and used the Master Lock to Angle, gaining the victory. Masters challenged Cena on January 16 to participate in the Master Lock Challenge. Cena accepted the challenge and displayed signs of escaping from the hold, but Edge assaulted Cena with his title belt and ended the contest.

Masters again performed with Carlito during the Royal Rumble, but Carlito was double-crossed and barred him from the match. Both men were enrolled in the Road to WrestleMania Tournament on February 6 to determine the number one contender for a WWE Championship match against WrestleMania 22. In a match between Carlito and Rob Van Dam, he'll use the ropes for leverage in a win over Kane to guarantee himself a spot in the second round against the winner of a later match between Carlito and Rob Van Dam. Van Dam won the tournament. Van Dam was able to defeat Masters and advance to the tournament final next week, this week. Masters continued to feud with one half of the World Tag Team Champions, Big Show, after which Masters' on and off teammate Carlito would feud with Kane. McMahon gave Shawn Michaels' former tag team partner Marty Jannetty a WWE deal in exchange for kissing his exposed buttocks in the middle of the wrestling match on February 27. McMahon changed the course of winning a Master Lock Challenge and summoned Masters to the ring when Jannetty hesitated. McMahon ordered Masters to compel Jannetty's face against his buttocks after he had applied the Master Lock. As Shawn Michaels intervened and knocked out Masters, Masters were unable to finish this course. Shane McMahon then assaulted Michaels, causing him to kiss Mr. McMahon's buttocks instead. McMahon publicly thanked everyone who supported the previous week's activities, and officially awarded Masters and Carlito a World Tag Team Championship match at WrestleMania 22. The two wrestlers, known as "The Masters of Cool," lost the match to Big Show and Kane at WrestleMania 22. After the match, the two argued among themselves. Despite Carlito's vehemently defamemaster over the previous months, it was Carlito who brought him to the forefront. After Carlito struck him from behind, Masters began to feud with Carlito during the next Raw Raw. Carlito won a match against the two men at Backlash, which culminated in a match between the two guys.

Masters won the WWE Intercontinental Championship after this but will miss several months to go to heroin therapy due to a heroin use. Despite poor blowing John Cena twice in a row before leaving, Masters was on the May 22 episode of Raw, losing a match to John Cena. During an OVW television taping on August 6, he returned to the ring. He had lost a lot of his muscle mass, appearing less slim, but he still had some shape in his arms and abdomen. Masters made his return against Cena on August 28 on Raw's episode. Jerry "The King" Lawler sported a goateee and mustache leading him to call him a "leaner and meaner" Chris Masters, as well as less muscle mass. This change of appearance was short-lived, though Masters shaved the goatee and regained some muscle mass. Masters were thrown into lower-card games, including a brief feud with Super Crazy, who had come from SmackDown!, with Masters being disqualified at the losing end of their matches. In a Six-Pack Challenge for the Intercontinental Championship, the pair will compete in a losing effort alongside four other Superstars. On the November 6 episode of Raw, Masters defeated Jerry Lawler for his first victory since being banned from the top rope, where Eric Bischoff, the night's Managing Director, compelled Lawler to be first handcuffed to the top rope. The Masters stayed in the feud with Lawler for a few weeks, with Lawler losing a Master Lock Challenge before defeating Masters.

Jonathan Coachman set up a Master Lock Battle against John Cena for the WWE Championship on December 4 on Raw's December 4 episode. The challenge was supposed to be won, but the master lock was released for a short period, allowing Cena to rename the hold to his own Master Lock, effectively ending Master Lock's tenure, and placing Cena first to win the Master Lock Challenge. Masters will rematch with Carlito at the start of 2007, which resulted in many matches between the two teams. At New Year's Revolution, Masters won a one-on-one competition. Carlito came out victorious in a rematch on Raw next night. Ron Simmons, with help from Super Crazy, almost "won" the Master Lock Challenge on the January 15 episode of Raw. On the February 26 episode of Raw, a potential Master Lock Challenge for The Great Khali failed, but not because Masters was unable to apply the lock to Khali. ECW World Champion Bobby Lashley first broke the Master Lock on the March 19 episode of Raw. It was the first time Masters appeared in this form more than two years ago.

Masters faced Santino Marella for the Intercontinental Championship in May and June, losing four times via roll-up. However, on the May 28 episode of Raw, he defeated Marella in the Master Lock Challenge.

Masters was drafted to the SmackDown in June 11 on Raw's episode. As part of the 2007 WWE draft, the company was launched as part of the WWE draft.

While on SmackDown!

He had been used in a few Master Lock Challenges throughout history. After Palumbo learned Masters was attempting to trick him, he got into a feud with Chuck Palumbo in several matches and an attempted Master Lock Challenge that did not start as Masters fled the ring. Masters was suspended for 30 days after failing a drug test.

Masters returned to SmackDown!

Applying the Master Lock to Palumbo on October 5, the Master Lock was applied to Palumbo. During his last match, Masters sustained a dislocated elbow, which would have sidelined him for four months. Masters had been suspended for 60 days for breaching WWE's Substance Abuse and Drug Policy for the second time on November 2, 2007. Mordetzky was fired from his WWE contract on November 8, 2007 after six days.

Mordetzky made his first wrestling appearance since being banned from WWE, battling under the banner Chris Moore of Antonio Inoki's Inoki Genome Federation in Tokyo, Japan, defeating Ryuji Yanagisawa. Mordetzky also appeared under his Chris Masters show name and gimmick at Harley Race's World League Wrestling exhibition on December 29, after a Lumberjack match between Branden Tatum and Dinn T. Moore. After Masters applied the Master Lock behind the referee's back, Tatum pinned Moore on Moore. Keith Walker won the WLW Heavyweight Championship, his first singles title, shortly after. On May 25, he later lost the title to Derek McQuinn. Mordetzky had signed a one-year deal with Nu-Wrestling Evolution in May 2008.

Mordetzky competed on the independent circuit in Australia and New Zealand, winning New Zealand Wide Pro Wrestling's Lower Hutt on April 23, 2009. In a Triple Threat match at the show Power Play 6 he defeated Adam Avalanche and Rufguts.

In the United Kingdom for Varsity Pro Wrestling and Puerto Rico for the World Wrestling Council, Masters competed in Europe for American Wrestling Rampage.

Mordetzky reprised his role as "the Masterpiece" Chris Masters on July 27, 2009, rejoining him in the World Wrestling Entertainment. He stepped down the ring with both an abridged Titantron and entrance theme, displaying his signature poses. In 2007, he also used this titantron. Mordetzky did not take the mic, and no comment was made about his absence. After applying the Master Lock submission to MVP outside the ring, he met Montel Vontavious Porter in a match that resulted in a double count out. Porter was able to win by pinfall over Masters the following week, putting an end to the feud.

Mordetzky began a face turn in November 2009, wrangling audiences with a Tony Holland-style pec dance. Mordetzky performed "mostly Your Art Piece" on Raw's November 2nd episode, earning a cheering audience response; he flexed his pecs to the beat of Ozzy's "Crazy Train" song. Later, Masters admitted that he was not a fan of the "pec dancing" gimmick but that he made the best of it for the company. After applying the Master Lock, Masters cemented his face turn by saving Eve Torres and Hornswoggle from Chavo Guerrero on December 7 episode of Raw. After that, Masters and Torres began an on-screen relationship.

Masters were mainly involved in lower-card feuds between 2010 and 2011. According to some wrestling analysts, his person was reducing to a comedic role because WWE wanted to avoid negative press relating to his former Talent and Wellness Violations. Masters was not on screen for more than 30 days after WrestleMania XVI.

During the Supplemental Draft, Masters was drafted back to the SmackDown brand on April 26. In his first match on the brand, he defeated Chavo Guerrero. Masters lost eleven singles matches from May to September, winning eleven singles titles during that time, where all the matches were hosted on Superstars. Masters was selected as one of the men to participate in the Traditional Survivor Series Elimination Tag Team match against Team Mysterio (Alberto Del Rio, Tyler Reks, Big Show, Kofi Kingston, Drew McIntyre, and "Dashing" Cody Rhodes). Masters defeated Swagger in a Survivor Series Showdown match on November 19 on SmackDown's November 19 episode. He competed in a 10-Man Survivor Series Showdown Battle Royal later that night, defeating Rhodes, but the Battle Royal was dominated by Mysterio and Big Show later that night (as it was a team versus team battle royal). Masters was disqualified by Del Rio at the Survivor Series pay per view, but his team went on to triumph. In late 2010, Masters mentor Byron Saxton on NXT. Masters would battle with Tyler Reks on Superstars in February and March 2011, and Masters defeated all four matches against each other in February and March 2011. A call for a revival and a potential gimmick change had been rumored, but no one came to it.

Masters was introduced back to the Raw brand as part of the 2011 supplemental draft on April 26, 2011, but he never fought on Raw in his four months as a Raw wrestler. In a losing effort, Jack Swagger appeared on WWE television against Jack Swagger on August 4, 2011 in a losing effort. Mordetzky was released from his WWE contract on August 5, 2011. In a worked shoot moment on WWE Champion CM Punk's August 8 episode, his appearance (as well as the introductions of Vladimir Kozlov and David Hart Smith) was discussed.

Mordetzky joined Ring Ka King, a Total Nonstop Action Wrestling for India under the name American Adonis in December 2011. He beat Roscoe Jackson but Mahabali Veera, an Indian wrestler, was defeated. Mordetzky was also revealed to be involved in the Wrestling Retribution Project under the ring name "Concrete" in December 2011. Mordetzky competed for the World Wrestling Fan Xperience (WWFX) Champions Showcase Tour in Manila, Philippines, on February 4, 2012, where he competed under the name Chris Master. He was defeated by a fellow WWE alumni MVP. Mordetzky was in London in April 2012 at the International Pro Wrestling Congress (IPW:UK) in London. Matt Cross, a WWE Tough Enough season 5 wrestler, and friend Carlito were among the other participants at the festival.

Mordetzky was defeated by Robbie E in a dark match for Impact Wrestling in June 2012. Since being released from WWE, Mordetzky has appeared in many other wrestling tournaments, including Southside Wrestling (DPW), Fire Star Pro Wrestling, Big Time Wrestling, and Tommy Dreamer's House Of Hardcore (HOH). Masters were defeated by Matt Hardy in the Big Time Wrestling 16th Anniversary Exhibition on October 26, 2012. Masters defeated Rik Luxury, Sean Casey, and then-Champion Chavo Guerrero Jr. in a Four-Way Elimination match for the Vendetta Pro Wrestling Heavyweight Championship on October 27, 2012.

Masters made his Preston City Wrestling (PCW) debut on December 9, 2012, losing to Kris Travis at PCW Festive Fury 2012. Masters took the Road to Glory Tournament on March 1, 2014, giving the right to a match for the PCW Heavyweight Championships. At Preston City Wrestling's third anniversary show with Lionheart as the special referee, Masters defeated Joey Hayes to become the PCW Heavyweight Champion.

Masters defeated Rob Conway in the NWA World Heavyweight Championship on April 20, 2013. Masters captured the Real Canadian Wrestling (RCW) Canadian Heavyweight Championship on January 24, 2014. The Masters lost the title the next day. Masters were defeated by Chris Hero on March 29, 2014 at the International Wrestling Federation's Breaking Ground. At the RDW 10th Anniversary Exhibition on November 1, 2014, Masters met 'The One' Simon Lancaster, and the match ended in a draw as the RDW champion, Spyda, assaulted both men. Masters then went on to help Lancaster in a match against Spyda, winning Lancaster the championship. Global Force Wrestling (GFW) announced Mordetzky as part of their roster on May 6, 2015. On June 12, he made his promotion debut, defeating Dustin Starr.

During a PCW/ROH Supershow of Honor tournament, Masters lost the PCW Heavyweight Championship in a three-way elimination match to Uhaa Nation on November 29, 2014. Masters defeated Uhaa Nation in a loser battle at PCW Road To Glory 2015, capturing the PCW Heavyweight Championship. Masters defeated the PCW Heavyweight Championship to Dave Mastiff at the PCW Tribute To The Troops 2 event on July 11, 2015.

Mordetzky made his Total Nonstop Action Wrestling (TNA) debut on Impact Wrestling's July 27, 2015 episode, where he battled in a King of the Mountains Championship match for the unemployed TNA King of the Mountain Championship. P. J. is the match's winner, Robbie E, Eric Young, Lashley, and the match's winner, P. J. The other participants, Black, were on display. Wrestling has had an effect on the global Force stable, which was revealed in the ring's contest against TNA. Mordetzky took the microphone and demanded a TNA battle, which was revealed to be Bobby Lashley. After the Global Force stable interrupted the match, the match came to a deadlock. Mordetzky defeated Drew Galloway in a Lumberjack match on September 9th episode of Impact Wrestling. Team GFW, Michael Myers, Jeff Jarrett, Eric Young, and Sonjay Dutt) lost to Team TNA (Drew Galloway, Lashley, Eddie Edwards, Bram and Davey Richards) on September 16 in a Lethal Lockdown match.

David McBride's trial was shocking, as the whistleblower convicted of divulging critical Afghanistan war information to ABC journalists pled guilty to three charges

www.dailymail.co.uk, November 17, 2023
David McBride, who helped expose accusations of war crimes committed by Australian soldiers in Afghanistan, has pleaded guilty to leak classified information. Originally facing five charges, the former military prosecutor (right) pled guilty to three counts, including stealing commonwealth information and handing it over to journalists. McBride (left) became worried about what he believed to be the 'over-investigation' of suspected special forces troops while serving as an army prosecutor in Afghanistan, according to the court.

A former Australian SAS soldier has been charged with defamation after news of Afghanistan executions

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 1, 2023
One of Australia's most decorated soldiers has lost a defamation lawsuit against three newspapers that accused him of complicity in the murder of six Afghans while on deployment. Four of six murder charges against former SAS corporal Ben Roberts-Smith (pictured left and right), 44, were published in Sydney, but 'in light of my findings, each proceeding must be dismissed,' said federal court Judge Anthony Besanko in Sydney today. Roberts-Smith brought the lawsuit against the Sydney Morning Herald, Age, and Canberra Times over articles arguing that he went beyond the boundaries of acceptable military service. Journalists Chris Masters (inset left) and Nick McKenzie (inset right) delivered a speech outside the Federal Court in Sydney earlier today.

Nick McKenzie, Ben Roberts-Smith's arch-nemesis, gets a new two-word name

www.dailymail.co.uk, June 1, 2023
Since a federal court judge found Mr Roberts-Smith (right) was involved in the killing of unarmed prisoners while serving in Afghanistan, journalist Nick McKenzie said Thursday it was "a day of mercy." After finding that Nine newspapers had proved the majority of the war crimes charges against him, Federal Court Justice Anthony Besanko dismissed Mr Roberts-Smith's court complaint. After the results, McKenzie said, 'What is certain is that Ben Roberts-Smith is a liar.' To me, Ben Roberts-Smith was portrayed as the Lance Armstrong of the Australian military by some one.' And I agree that we must now treat it as truth.' McKenzie (left) had posted a one-word tweet immediately after the decision: 'Justice' (inset).
