Early life and acting career

Salt was educated at Newcastle-under-Lyme College in Staffordshire, England. Salt had already appeared in several television shows, including The Land of Plenty trilogy The Whistle-Blower series The Inspector Lynley Mysteries, the BBC family drama series Born and Bred, by 16 years old Salt. Salt appeared in the American television series Wildfire as Gillian Parsons for 13 episodes from 2006–07. Lady Ursula Misseldon on The Tudors and Lady Arabella Marchand du Belmont in the TV film A Princess for Christmas appeared in 2009.

Salt played Sam Nicholls on Casualty from 2011–2018, spanning a four-year absence before her character's death in the first episode of the thirty-third series. She has appeared in Bedlam (2012) and The Musketeers (2015).

Salt appears in Everybody's Talking About Jamie, which was released in September 2021.
