Carly Pearce Life

Carly Cresser (born April 24, 1990), also known as Carly Pearce, is an American country music musician based in Nashville.

"Every Little Thing," her debut single, debuted on the US Country Airplay chart, rated No. 1 in the United States.

Early life

Pearce was born Carly Cristyne Slusser in Taylor Mill, Kentucky, to Todd and Jackie Slusser. Pearce inherited an obsession with country music from her grandparents, who played it at home during her childhood. Her stage name is based on her grandfather's last name. Pearce said in a home video saved by her family that one day she would appear on the Grand Ole Opry. She began performing professionally in mid-childhood. Pearce, a teen, performed with a bluegrass band on a regular basis at age 11. She has appeared in church and tent revival shows. She served in a boys' prison from the age of 14.

Pearce auditioned for the "Country Crossroads" exhibition, which is a program of the Dollywood theme park, at age 16. Since being hired to work, she persuaded her parents to relocate to Pigeon Forge, Tennessee, (the site of Dollywood), and to make her drop out of high school. "Performing at Dollywood was a significant part of my journey to discovering myself and finding my way," Pearce said in a reflection on the experience in 2017. She enrolled in a homeschooling program while working at Dollywood. Pearce's online course enabled her to explore post-graduation opportunities if she so desired. In that her "parents would not have to do anything," Pearce said, the online course was similar to a college course. Pearce appeared at Dollywood five times a week, many in several shows per day. In addition, she performed on several compilation albums of bluegrass music.

Personal life

Pearce announced in July 2018 that she was dating fellow country singer Michael Ray. Pearce told Taste of Country that she met him after posting remarks on his Instagram page. Ray didn't fully comprehend Pearce's motives during their first interactions. They got engaged on December 19, 2018. Along with Pearce's family, who also attended the holiday, Ray recommended to Pearce at a beach resort in Tulum, Mexico. The two were married in Nashville, Tennessee, on October 6, 2019. After eight months of marriage, Pearce filed for divorce from Ray in June 2020. Riley King, a former Minor League Baseball player, began dating her in late 2020.

Carly Pearce Career

Career

Pearce left Nashville, Tennessee, at the age of 19 to pursue a country music career. She'll later compare her youth in Nashville to that of a "roller coaster" ride. In 2012, she signed a Sony Music Nashville contract. Pearce's designer was dropped from the company. Pearce's contract with Sony was terminated as a result of the producer's departure. She later said that the experience of having an opportunity and then losing it was frustrating. "Of course there were moments that I wanted to avoid playing music," Pearce said in a 2017 interview with Nash Country Daily. Many tears have been shed and many prayers have been said at night. I've always wanted to do this, and I've said a little earlier that "just staying in the game and waiting it out, and fighting and really understanding that this is a business." She began working part-time to support ends meet after losing the opportunity. Cleaning Airbnb's was one of those services.

Pearce began networking with other performers and executives in the country music industry while doing part-time jobs. Pete Fisher, the vice president and general manager of the Grand Ole Opry, was present at this time. Pearce was offered the opportunity to serve on the Opry in 2015 (before she had an established one). Fisher was notified of her musical abilities and passions as a result of their work relationship. busbee signed her to a blossoming artist contract in 2015.

Pearce was featured by the country's Josh Abbott Band on the track "Wasn't That Drunk" in 2016. It reached number 37 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart as a single last year. Pearce's appearance on the song helped the artist gain exposure to country radio stations. She has appeared on television with the Josh Abbott Band, as well as a appearance on Jimmy Kimmel Live! Pearce was being attracted by a number of Nashville record labels the same year. However, most people had declined to invite her. She recalled being advised by several industry professionals to move home or pursue other goals in an interview with Forbes. Busbee's "Every Little Thing" was written by Pearce the same year. It was picked up by radio airplay on Sirius XM's The Highway channel, where it received significant praise. Pearce was given a variety of recording contracts as a result of the company's recognition. She later agreed to sign with Big Machine Records.

In February 2017, "Every Little Thing" was officially released as a single to country radio. The song had become a big hit by November, peaking at number five on the Billboard Hot Country Songs chart and number one on the Billboard Country Airplay chart. The Recording Industry Association of America of America's "Every Little Thing" released over 500,000 copies in the United States, earning a gold medal from the Recording Industry Association of America. The debut studio album by Pearce was out the same year as Every Little Thing. The album debuted on the Billboard Top Country Albums list just shy of being number four. It also ranked 32nd on the Billboard 200 albums chart, at number 32. Music journalists and reviewers lauded the album's critical reception. Stephen Thomas Erlewine of AllMusic called "polished professionalism" in its debut but also compared it to the bluegrass musical style used in earlier career performances. "Her showbiz and country roots are inextricably linked," Erlewine said, a singer with a nostalgia for the past but an eye for the present." Jewly Hight of NPR praised the album, noting differences between her singing voice and that of artists like Alison Krauss and Trisha Yearwood.

Pearce began to work on new musical projects during this period. This included touring with Luke Bryan, Thomas Rhett, and Blake Shelton. "Hide the Wine," the singer's next single release, was inspired by her 2017 album. It was Pearce's second major hit, debuting at number 13 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart in 2018. She released a single in the same year that was supposed to be the lead off her forthcoming second studio album. The song, titled "Closer to You," was released in November 2018 and ranked in the top 40 of the Billboard country charts.

Pearce performed her second single from her unveiled second studio album in October 2019. "I Hope You're Happy Now" was a duet with country singer Lee Brice. The album was her second appearance on the Billboard Country Airplay chart, behind only two others. Michael Ray's self-titled second studio album was released in February 2020 after taking time to marry him. It will be busbee's last production run before his death in 2019. It debuted on the Top Country Albums list and at number 73 on the Billboard 200, with number 6 on the Top Country Albums list and number 73 on the Billboard 200. Jason Scott of American Songwriter led it to three out of five actors by leading an artist who is growing, prospering, and accepting both good and bad.

Pearce said in June 2020 that she was recording new music and that her next album would not be a track off of her second album. "Next Girl" was the single she released in September 2020. Pearce's first extended play collection, 29, was released in February 2021. The album's name was derived from personal humiliations she suffered through her twentieth year. These performances featured her exile from Michael Ray's music and her long-time producer, busbee. American Songwriter praised the EP, calling it a "exquisite seven song collection." Rolling Stone's seven tracks ended "in a place of hope" for the end. "Next Girl" debuted on the Billboard country airplay chart, peaking at the top of the top 15.

Dolly Parton had invited Pearce to become a Grand Ole Opry actor in June 2021. 29: Written in Stone, her third studio album, was announced a month later. The initiative was a follow-up to her 2021 EP. In September 2021, it was officially launched. It debuted at number nine on the Billboard country albums chart and at number 83 on the Billboard 200. Critics, including AllMusic, praised the album's "vulnerability" and Variety, which highlighted its traditional musical sound, all praised it. "Never Wanted to Be That Girl," a duet with Ashley McBryde, was born on the CD. It was Pearce's third single to top the Billboard Country Airplay chart. Pearce and Kelly Clarkson appear on Kelsea Ballerini's "You're Drunk, Go Home" as a team.
