As center Martin Necas was seen punching New York Islanders forward Brock Nelson in the chest unprovoked, moments after he was escorted to the bench, a night of rage for the Carolina Hurricanes erupted. As his Hurricanes were down 3-1 in the third period, Necas was fighting for the puck around center ice. He was chastising him as a result of Necas' flawless shoulder check, which led him to the Islanders bench over the boards head over heels.

During Tuesday's game against the Toronto Maple Leafs, New York Islanders center Brock Nelson pulled his own tooth out while sitting on the bench. Nelson was stumbling and clutching his face momentarily before laying still and clutching his face. As he realized his tooth was barely sticking around, he blasted him on the bench cameras. He used his hands to pull the tooth out of his mouth and gave it to an Islanders employee.
