Brett Young Life

Brett Charles Young (born March 23, 1981) is an American country pop singer-songwriter from Orange County, California.

He was a college baseball pitcher but he took up songwriting after an elbow injury.

Dann Huff's self-titled debut EP, which was produced by him, was published by Republic Nashville on February 12, 2016.

"Sleep Without You," the lead single, was released on April 11, and he had a huge success with his next single, "In Case You Didn't Know."

In 2018, he released Ticket to Los Angeles, his second major label album.

Early life

Young was born in Anaheim, Orange County. He attended Calvary Chapel High School in Costa Mesa, California, and later Ole Miss, Irvine Valley College, and Fresno State. He started singing in the late 1990s when he stepped in to replace an outspoken leader of the band at a Christian worship meeting at high school.

Young was a pitcher on his high school baseball team and coached the team to the CIF championship. He went to Ole Miss on a baseball scholarship in 1999 after losing pre-draft picks from both Tampa Bay Devil Rays and Minnesota Twins. In his first season with the Rebel baseball team in 2000, he received a varsity letter and had two victories and two saves. He then matriculated at Irvine Valley for a year before heading to Fresno. Nevertheless, while at Fresno in 2003, his chance of a professional baseball career was shattered by an elbow injury.
