Early life
Webb was born in Baltimore, Maryland, to Garfield and Shea Webb. She graduated from Baltimore School for the Performing Arts in 2002. She claims that her parents were a good support system for her, and that actresses such as Angela Bassett and Will Smith have been encouraging encouragers to pursue acting and comedy. She is a devout Christian. She has stated that she has a strong belief in placing God first in her life and in prayer. She earned a BFA in acting at the California Institute of the Arts in 2007.
Career
Webb's career began on television. She appeared in NBC medical drama series ER from 2008 to 2009. In 2010, she was cast opposite Tatyana Ali in the TV One comedy series Love That Girl. After three seasons of being part of Love That Girl's main cast, it was revealed that Webb had been promoted to the lead role of the television drama after former lead actress Tatyana Ali was refused to return due to contractual obligations to the now cancelled BET television series Second Generation Wayans. Webb debuted on a special Saturday Night Live program in 2013 that concentrated on African American comedians of African descent. She appeared in Kevin Hart's ABC comedy pilot Keep It Together in 2014. Teresa Morris, a regular appearance in Grey's Anatomy, appeared in ABC medical drama series in 2014.
Webb appeared in the short-lived NBC sitcom Truth Be Told in 2015. Marlon, the other NBC sitcom, starred Marlon Wayans and Essence Atkins from 2017 to 2018. After two seasons, the show was cancelled. Webb appeared in the 2014 independent horror film Hollows Grove. In 2016, she appeared in the comedy films Ride Along 2 starring Kevin Hart and Meet the Blacks opposite Mike Epps. Taraji P. Henson's thriller Acrimony starred her in 2018 and she played supporting role opposite Kevin Hart and Tiffany Haddish in the comedy film Night School.
