Brahmanandam Kanneganti (born 1 February 1956) is an Indian film actor and comedian best known for his work in Telugu cinema.

He currently holds the Guinness World Record for the most screen credits for a living actor.

In 2009, he was given the Padma Shri for his contribution to Indian cinema.

Brahmanandam is one of India's finest comedians, renowned especially for his comedic expressions.

He has appeared in more than 1,000 films to date, and has been one of the highest paid comedy actors in Indian Cinema.

Brahmanandam has received five state Nandi Awards, one Filmfare Award South, six CineMAA Awards, and three South Indian International Film Awards for best comedy.

Early life

Brahmanandam was born in Sattenapalle, Andhra Pradesh, on February 1, 1956. Nagalingachari and Lakshmi Narsamma's parents are both parents. Brahmanandam was one of eight children, and his father was a carpenter. In Attili, a West Godavari district, he completed his Master of Arts degree and joined as a Telugu lecturer.

Personal life

Brahmanandam married Lakshmi and has two sons, Raja Gautham and Sidddharth. Gautham has appeared in films including Pallakilo Pellikoothuru (2004) and Manu (2018). Gautham is married and has a son who was born in 2017. Brahmanandam underwent heart bypass surgery at the Asian Heart Institute (AHI) in Mumbai in January 2019.

Brahmanandam is also an amateur sculptor and a sketch artist, in addition to acting. In his spare time, he also reads the philosophical writings of Swami Vivekananda and Jiddu Krishnamurthi.

Career

Brahmanandam also worked as a lecturer and as a mimicry artist. Adi Vishnu, a novelist and playwright, was introduced by him to Doordarshan's NCV Sashidhar (DD). He made his television debut with DD Telugu's Pakapakalu in 1985. The audience responded well to his performance in the program. Director Jandhyala cast him in the film Aha Naa-Pellanta after seeing his appearance in the series. (1987), which was his first appearance for him. He appeared in the hit films Pasivadi Pranam and Swayam Krushi earlier this year. He appeared in Sri Tatavataram, his second film was Satyagraham, and Aha Naa Pellanta was the third film he appeared in. In 1988, Sri Tatavataram was released.

He appeared in many Telugu films over the years, including in the film Vivahu (1988), Bandhu Peeru (1989), and Bamma Baata (1990) was well-lauded.

Brahmanandam has appeared in a variety of comedic roles and a few brief appearances since 1991. In 1991, he appeared in major films, including Kshana Kshanam (1991) and Rowdy Alludu (1991). In his review of the film Hello Brother (1994), Griddaluru Gopalrao praised Brahmanandam's role and his performance.
