Ball began speaking with chaplain Max Wrigley while working at Bradford Alhambra in 1986. "I was talking to him and chastised him verbally about God," Ball said. But there was a quiet about him. I'm unable to elaborate on what he had, but he did have something I didn't have. I went to speak with him one day, and after a while he said, 'Let's pray,' he said.' I'd never prayed in my life, but we prayed and it changed my life, as well as [he snaps his fingers]. Ball became a Christian shortly afterward, which helped to re-kindle his fractured friendship with Cannon. Cannon became a Christian in 1992, with the pair releasing a book called Christianity for Beginners. They regularly appeared in their own gospel and "An audience with..." show in churches around the country. He also taught vicars and clergy how to incorporate humor into sermons.
