On Thursday's programme, Emmerdale supporters were devastated as Rishi Sharma died in heartbreaking scenes. The much loved character played by Bhasker Patel on the day of Jai (Chris Bisson) and Laurel Thomas' (Charlotte Bellamy) wedding had been postponed for 12 years on the soap. Rishi lay dead on the stairs in his suit in the penultimate minutes before the credits were announced - never able to get it to the church after Jai made a U-turn in prohibiting him from attending the service.
