Corbett was born on 20 June 1956. He was a resident of Collingswood, New Jersey, and the first house he bought was next door to his grandmother's home there.

Acting career

Corbett began his Broadway debut in New York. He appeared in Andrea Marcoucci's Broadway Musical Nefertiti, just two weeks before he began attending Boston Conservatory of Music. He then proceeded to play Kenicki in Grease, as well as the Broadway production of Come Back Little Sheba starring Shirley Knight and Philip Bosco. In The Matinee Kids, he appeared off-Broadway with Liz Callaway and Karen Mason. Corbett was cast as Michael Pavel Jr. on Ryan's Hope by a casting director who hadn't seen him in a performance on Broadway. He appeared on television from 1979 to 1981.

Corbett appeared on Search for Tomorrow from 1982 to 1985, and on The Young and the Restless from 1986 to 1991, he portrayed secretary-turned-murderer David Kimble from 1982 to 1991. Corbett has appeared on several television series, including The King of Queens, Star Trek: The Next Generation as Dr. Rabal, and Zoey 101 as Logan's father, Malcolm Reese, as well as the web series Venice: The Series.

Corbett has hosted real estate and lifestyle segments for NBC entertainment news program EXTRA! since 2000, and the show's staff has been recognized for Outstanding Entertainment News Program (2014). He is also the host and senior producer of EXTRA's Mansions and Millionaires! For the Reelz channel, Corbett created and executive produced Mansion Hunters.

Corbett appears on television shows including The View, Good Day LA, and The Australian Show Today, Corbett appears as a real estate expert. He has appeared on CNN, Discovery Channel, ABC News, Fox News, the Fine Living Network, The Tyra Banks Show, CBS News, and Larry King Live. He has appeared in People magazine, Newsweek, Robb Report, The Los Angeles Times, and The New York Times. On the 12-city national tour of the Real Estate & Wealth Expo, he hosted and lectured.
