Aurea Life

urea Isabel Ramos de Sousa (born 7 September 1987), also known as Aurea, is a Portuguese soul singer from Santiago do Cacém, Setubal.

She debuted in 2008 with her single "Okay Alright," which was included on the soundtrack of Portuguese series Morangos com Açcar.

She performed the song live at the Morangos Live Festival in 2008, alongside two other cover duets.

In 2009, this concert was first broadcast on DVD.

Aurea's debut album, Aurea, was released in September 2010.

The album debuted at number 21 on the Portuguese Albums Chart, but it quickly rose to number one.

It features the number "Busy for Me," which was the album's lead single. Aurea held a special live television show in December 2010 to promote some of her songs.

RTP2 and SIC Notcias carried it out.

"Busy for Me," her first number one single, debuted in August 2010, was the first single to reach the Portuguese iTunes chart; it debuted in eighth place.

This has been credited with solidly establishing the singer's career and is now considered her signature song.

Critical reviews discovered similarities between the album and the launches of Aretha Franklin, Dusty Springfield, and The Supremes, as well as contemporaneous artists Amy Winehouse or Duffy.

Aurea toured around the country in 2011 to promote her debut album during the year 2011 and 2010.

She sold out all of the top Portuguese charts for 71 weeks, and the album remained on the top Portuguese charts for 71 weeks. She became a mentor on The Voice Portugal in 2015. Aurea sings in English.

So far this year, she has only released a single word that is not English, such as the telenovela A Impostora (2016/2017), which she sang in her native Portuguese.

Aurea Career

Life and career

Aurea was born in Santiago de Cacém, Alentejo, and grew up in the Algarve. She knew she wanted to be a musician or actress as a child, and she appeared in numerous plays at school. Aurea enrolled at Évora's university, where she concentrated on performing arts. Rui Ribeiro, who had heard her singing, was at the University of Aurea in 2008. "Okay Alright" was her first single on Blim Records in 2008. The song appeared on the soundtrack of Morangos com Açcar's Portuguese soap opera Morangos com Açcar. She appeared at the Morangomania Festival in August of 2008, a performance conceived by Morangos com Açcar's production team. Rui Ribeiro wrote a song for Aurea in early 2009 and asked if she would like to perform it. They did a demo for it, and Ribeiro gave it to Blim Records, her new record label. They loved her voice and decided to "go beyond it!" "British music was born on an album."

"I think singing in English is better than singing in Portuguese," Aurea said during an interview: "I think singing in English is more than singing in Portuguese (...) because Soul music was "born" through English words in summer 2010. Aretha Franklin, Joss Stone, James Morrison, and Amy Winehouse all inspired her, according to her (as with Joss Stone). In August 2010, Aurea released "Busy for Me," a blue-eyed soul ballad influenced by artists like Aretha Franklin and Amy Winehouse. Music critics applauded the album's praises. Aurea appeared on a TV special broadcast on many other programs on Portuguese television.

On August 6, 2010, Ricardo Reis directed a music video for the single. In September 2010, Aurea was first published. Rui Ribeiro was responsible for the creation of nine of the album's songs as well as all of the original lyrics. It's a pop/soul album, but it has a lot of influences from a variety of musical styles. This collection is also a little bit of Aurea's work. Ricardo Ferreira and Rui Ribeiro produced the album. On the Portuguese Albums Chart, the album debuted at number 21 but quickly rose to number one. "Busy for Me" was selected as the album's lead single.
