Arthur Mutambara Life

Arthur Guseni Oliver Mutambara (born 25 May 1966) is a Zimbabwean politician.

In February 2006, he became the president of the Movement for Democratic Change (MDC).

Since September 2003, he has been working as a director and CEO of Africa Technology and Business Institute.

Mutambara served in the cabinet from 2009 to 2013 as one of two Deputy Prime Ministers under a power-sharing deal in September 2008.

Early activism

Mutambara served as president of the University of Zimbabwe's Student Representative Council in 1988 and 1989. He led anti-government demonstrations at the University of Zimbabwe, which culminated in his detention and detention. He was later educated at Merton College, Oxford, in the United Kingdom, where he obtained a DPhil in Robotics and Mechatronics, as well as in the United States, where he spent time as a visiting Fellow at the California Institute of Technology, Massachusetts Institute of Technology, and Florida State University College of Engineering. He also worked as a consultant for McKinsey & Company as a lecturer on Corporate Strategy and as a consultant.

Mutambara has chastised government ministers for misusing Zimbabwe's land reform initiative, participating in "monopolistic politics of domination, mismanagement, and petty bourgeois accumulation."

Mutambara, a self-professed admirer of Che Guevara, has also stated his intention to visit Cuba to learn more about the country's "successful resistance" to American sanctions. "We have a lot to learn from Cuba's 1959 revolution, so we can continue with our brotherhood, press the resistance, and improve our cooperation," Mutambara said.
