Jonathan Nathaniel Mlevu Moyo (born 12 January 1957) is a Zimbabwean politician who served as Minister of Higher Education from 2015 to 2017.
He served as Minister of Information and Publicity from 2000 to 2005 and again from 2013 to 2015.
In 2005 and 2008, he was elected as an independent candidate to the House of Assembly of Zimbabwe as an outsider.
He is considered the main architect of the AIPPA and POSA restricting legislation.
Early life
In the absence of the father, he was raised by his mother, who died in absence. Melusi Job Mlevu, his father's name, was Melusi Job Mlevu. His father, who was a politician, was reported to have been assassinated during the Gukurahundi massacre on January 22nd, 1983. Jonathan Moyo attended his primary school in Tsholotsho North, Mbiriya Primary School in Tsholotsho North, and his High School was in Mpopoma High School.
