Career

Alexandra Hedison is a fine art photographer. Hedison and others appeared at Rose Gallery in Bergamot Station, Los Angeles, in 2002.

She first displayed the (Re)Building collection in 2005, which explored themes of loss, migration, and recovery, while using building as a metaphor for memory in the subconscious's architecture. Ithaka, a series of large format photographs titled Ithaka, which takes its name from a CP Cavafy poem of the same name, was shot in North America's temperate rain forest. Ithaka was the first exhibit in London and included in The New Yorker's 2008 Passport to the Arts and Month of Photography Los Angeles the following year.

Hedison's work has been included in public and private collections around the world, and her photographs have been seen in solo and group exhibitions in galleries and museums throughout the United States and Europe, including Los Angeles, New York, and London.

In 2008, Barclays Capital selected Hedison for international sponsorship.

Hedison's Center of Cultural Intelligence in Singapore sponsored a number of books in 2009.

The Ithaka collection was on display at Frank Pictures Gallery in Santa Monica in 2009. The Month of Photography Los Angeles (MOPLA) Official Opening Night Exhibition in association with Pro'jekt Los Angeles. "In the Woods," her solo show "In the Woods" was on display at Meredith Gunderson Projects in London in 2010. In a solo show at Mews 42 Gallery in London last year, Hedison displayed Ithaka.

Hedison spent a residency at the Willums Art Foundation in Pourrieres, France, in 2011.

"Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" was on display at Diane Rosenstein Gallery in Beverly Hills in 2012.

Hedison was selected to attend the Frostig Collection in Los Angeles in 2013 as part of the "My Aim Is True" exhibit.

In 2013, Hedison was involved in a group exhibition with others at Diane Rosenstein Fine Art, Los Angeles, on "First Anniversary - Exhibition of Paintings and Photographs."

Hedison and others were on display at "Both Sides of Sunset - Photographs of Los Angeles" at Kopeikin Gallery in Los Angeles in 2016.

In 2016, "Everybody Knows This Is Nowhere" opened at the Centro Cultural de Cascais in Cascais, Portugal, an exhibition that featured photography and film works. The show was deemed one of the top ten exhibitions in Lisbon during the year by Time Out magazine.

In 2017, Hedison and Jodie Foster co-chaired the 14th edition of the Hammer Museum's annual Gala in the Garden.

Dylan Moreland, a con artist on Showtime's The L Word, has also appeared in numerous television series, including Showtime's The L Word.
