Aisling Franciosi (born 6 June 1993) is an Irish-Italian actress.

Franciosi appeared in the RTÉ-BBC Two crime drama television series The Fall and as Kate Crawford in TNT's Legends in 2016.

In 2017, she appeared in The Nightingale, a Tasmanian period film shot by Jennifer Kent and directed by Jennifer Kent.

Early life

Franciosi was born and grew up in Dublin, Ireland. Her father is Italian and her mother is Irish, and she has two older brothers and a younger sister. She is trilingual and fluent in English, Italian, and Irish. At Trinity College Dublin, she studied French and Spanish.

Career

In the RTÉ and BBC Two crime drama series The Fall, Katie Benedetto appeared from 2013 to 2016. In Jimmy's Hall, she made her debut in 2014. Kate Crawford appeared in the second season of TNT series Legends as Kate Crawford.

Franciosi appeared in the HBO series Game of Thrones in the sixth season as Lyanna Stark and reprised her role in the seventh season. Clare Carroll landed the lead role in The Nightingale, a Tasmanian period drama filmed by Jennifer Kent in 2018. Francioisi's Nightingale garnered critical acclaim as well as a number of awards, including an AACTA. Fernande Olivier appeared in and reprised roles on BBC Crime 1 as Georgia Cunningham and the Picasso version of the National Geographic television anthology Genius.

In the 2020 miniseries Black Narcissus opposite Gemma Arterton and appeared in the films Home, The Unforgivable, and God's Creatures, Franciosi played Sister Ruth. She appears in the forthcoming film Rothko, directed by Sam Taylor-Johnson, as well as the horror film The Last Voyage of Demeter.
