Career
Gillies' acting career began at age 12 when she first started attending local open casting calls. She began appearing in commercials for companies like Virgin Mobile. In three episodes of The Black Donnellys, Gillies' first television appearance was as a recurring character. She has stated that she was not allowed to watch the entire show because her parents felt it was not appropriate for her at the time.
She appeared in The Clique, Harold, and Locker 514 in 2008. In addition to her role as Lucy in Jason Robert Brown's latest musical 13, she was also cast as Lucy.
