Zachary Wolfe Galligan (born February 14, 1964) is an American actor best known for his appearance in Gremlins (1984) and Gremlins 2: The New Batch (1990).
Early life and education
Galligan was born in New York City on February 14, 1964, the son of Carol Jean (née Wolfe), a psychologist), and Arthur John Galligan, a partner of Dickstein Shapiro. Jessica is his sister and has graduated from Columbia University.
Personal life
Galligan married Ling-Ling Hu Ingerick at the Yale Club in New York on September 25, 2005; they divorced in 2010. Galligan was arrested in 2003 for allegedly shoplifting a CD from a Los Angeles Tower Records store.
Career
Billy Peltzer appeared in the 1984 film Gremlins, Galligan's first major and most widely seen role. He directed Nothing Lasts Forever, the theatrical premiere of which was cancelled and never released in any form for years, prior to being cast in Gremlins. He appeared in Mark Loftmore's horror film Waxwork in 1988. Billy in the 1990 sequel Gremlins 2: The New Batch was revived, and he played Mark in Waxwork II: Lost in Time.
Galligan's Fist, a UK progressive rock band, announced in 2016 that he would perform a character on their album The Clockwork Fable.
