Yehuda Amichai (born Ludwig Pfeuffer, 1924-2000) was an Israeli poet.

Amichai is both nationally and internationally recognized as Israel's best modern poet and one of the world's best poets.

In addition, he wrote two books and several short stories.

He was one of the first writers to write in colloquial Hebrew. He was given the Shronsky Prize, the 1969 Bialik Award, and the 1982 Israel Prize.

He has also won international poetry awards and been nominated for the Nobel Prize in Literature on several occasions.
