Julien Clerc and Deep Purple were among the guests on display. The show has been repeated over the years and has been seen as a classic piece of the period, but it was not well received in all quarters due to its surprising and unexpected photographs in an age when songs were not normally associated with graphics for marketing purposes. Other film portraits by well-known film makers in the 1970s were to follow, drew worldwide attention. Music My Way is a television show hosted in the United Kingdom by the BBC.

In the Benelux and German speaking countries, the album received Gold status. It was 1988 before the first album, "Ich bin ich," would be released. The album was more rock-oriented than previous works, and it was produced in conjunction with Klaus "Nick" Munro. During this time, Leandros did not tour and made only limited appearances, mainly focusing on her family life and her three young children. She collaborated with German hit-maker Jack White from 1995 to 1998, as well as the German version of the Titanic song "My Heart Will Go On" by Samantha Price. Leandros' highest-charging track since Verlorenes Paradies was this song "Weil mein Herz dich nie mehr vergisst."

Her album "Don't Break My Heart," which had already appeared on the charts, failed to gain the most popular votes among the televoting public.

Möge der Himmel, Leandros' album, was released in March 2009. This album featured soul elements, R&B sensibilities, hip hop, and hip rap. The change in direction was headline news, and the album received mixed feedback.
