Valerie Domnguez Tarud (born January 12, 1981 in Barranquilla) is a Colombian actress, model, and beauty pageant champion who represented her country in Miss Universe 2006, where she placed in the top ten.

Early life

She studied fashion design in Milan, Italy, and is also a jewelry designer in Colombia.

Valerie is one of the first cousins of singer Shakira and is of Lebanese descent.

Valerie is also well-known for her television appearances, and she made her television debut as Marianne Sajir in "Hasta que la plata nos separe." Manuela appeared in "Esto huele mal" by Jorge Ali Triana, and she also began to work in Colombia. The beautiful actress' participation in Colombia was relatively straightforward. She is now on the television drama El ltimo Matrimonio Feliz. Valerie has a jewelry store in Barranquilla, which displays her designs. She'll soon have a second store in Bogotá.

After participating in the Miss Universe, she entered television with the co-starring role in the Colombian telenovela "El ltimo matrimony" ("The last happy marriage") and played a supporting role in RCN's "Until the money do us part."
