Jennifer Keaton of the hit NBC series Family Ties, as well as her appearances in numerous television films throughout the 1980s and early 1990s, including Spunk: The Tonya Harding Story among others, began as a child actor at the age of three.
Early life
Yothers was born in Whittier, California. Robert Yothers, her father, was a television producer. She has three brothers, Jeffrey and Randy (twins), and Cory, who all worked in commercials as teenagers. Randy made several television appearances in the early 1970s as "Poindexter" Yothers. Cory appeared in numerous films and television shows through the early 1980s, often referred to as "Bumper" Yers.
Personal life
Robert Kaiser, an electrician, married Yothers in 2002, who had a daughter from a previous marriage. Lillian Grace 'Lilly', a 2005-born baby, and Robert Jake, 2007. The family lives in Ontario, California.
Career
At age 3, Yothers began her acting career in television commercials. In 1981 television film The Cherokee Trail, she was her first cinema appearance. She appeared in the 1982 film Shoot the Moon, as the Moon's resident. Jennifer Keaton, the younger daughter of the television sitcom Family Ties from 1982 to 1989, was her most popular role. In December 1988, she participated in the Battle of the Network Stars. With the notable exception of a 1996 appearance on Married... with Children, Yothers renounced her blonde hair color and mainly wore it black and had mostly black.
She wrote the book Being Your Best: Tina Yers' Guide to Girls and formed Jaded with her brother Cory. She accompanied the lead vocals while Cory played keyboard. Jaded's self-titled album, co-written by Cory Yothers, Michael Anderson, Tina Yothers, and performed by Tina Yothers (lead vocals), Jerry France (guitars/vocals), Mike Wilson (bass), and a DJ were among the No Doubt's (drums) and Phil Jordan from No Doubt on trumpet), as well as a DJ. In a Family Ties episode "Band on the Run," Yothers sang a cover of The Raes song "Baby I'm Back in Love Again," which she would later record as a solo. (February 26, 1987).
Yothers was given the lead role in Lovelace the Musical, a 2004 stage show based on the life of former pornographic film actor Linda Lovelace after a nine-year absence from acting. She continued to perform in Boca Raton, Florida, from 2005 to 2007.
She appeared in round 5 of The Weakest Link in 2001, where she was voted off in round 5 as herself.
Celebrity Fit Club, a reality television show hosted on YouTube, began on August 6, 2006, and Yothers appeared on the fourth season.
