Thalía Life

Ariadna Thalo Miranda (Spanish pronunciation: [a ja ta ta li.a soo mi miriada]; born 26 August 1971), also known as Thalu;a) is a Mexican singer and actress. She is known as the "Queen of Latin Pop" and is one of Mexico's most popular and influential Mexican artists. She is one of the best-selling Latin music artists of all time, having sold over 25 million albums worldwide. Thala has also sung in English, French, Portuguese, and Tagalog, in addition to her native Spanish.

She has received numerous accolades, including five Billboard Latin Music Awards, eight Lo Nuestro Awards, eight Leo Nuestro Awards, seven Latin Grammy Award nominations, and the coveted "President's Merit Award" in 2019. She has worked with many artists, including Tony Bennett, Michael Bublé, Robbie Williams, Marc Anthony, Laura Pausini, Romeo Santos, Maluma, Fat Joe, and Carlos Vives.

Thal'a, an actress, appeared in a number of popular telenovelas that aired in over 180 countries with a reported audience of 2 billion viewers, resulting in her being referred to as the "Queen of telenovelas" by mass media. Her novelas' global success enabled her to play her music in non-Spanish speaking regions and Asian markets. Televisa, Mexico's state-owned television corporation, has named her as the best-paid telenovela actress in history, while Billboard has named her as the world's most well-known Spanish-speaking soap actress.

Ocean Drive, considered a Latin pop icon, called Thal "the biggest star Mexico has exported in the last decade." She was one of Billboard's Top Latin Artists of All Time in 2020 and People En Espaol's Top 100 Most Popular Hispanic entertainers of all time in 2008. On December 5, she was inducted into the Hollywood Walk of Fame as a hero in the music industry on December 5, 2013. Thal'a, a businesswoman, enjoyed success with a fashion brand (having signed a Macy's), as well as being the host of her own nationally syndicated radio show and author of four books, including her memoir. Thala has been active in humanitarian causes and has served as a UNICEF Mexico Ambassador since 2016.

Early life

Thala was born in Mexico City on August 26, 1971. She is the youngest of five children of Yolanda Miranda Mange (d.2011), a painter who was Thal's boss from 1980 to 1999 and Ernesto Sodi Pallares (d. 1977), a scientist, doctor of pathology, and author. Laura Zapata (daughter of Guillermo Pérez de Utrera), Federica, Gabriela, and Ernestina Sodi are among her four sisters.

Thala made her first television commercial in Mexico when she turned one. She began taking ballet and piano lessons at the Conservatorio Nacional de Mexico at the age of four. When Thala was six years old, her father died of diabetes and died in 1977.

Thala confessed openly that her father's death had traumatized her greatly, since she had not spoken out for a year. This resulted in her being diagnosed with childhood disintegrative disorder (CDH), which is related to a variety of developmental disorders related to autism spectrum. She has said she underwent psychotherapy for a few years. She has reportedly stated that she was a victim of bullying as a child as a result of her father's death.

Thala attended Lycée Franco-Mexicoin elementary school, where she learned to speak French fluently at a young age. She made a guest appearance in the Mexican film La granites ("War of Cakes") in 1976, a year before her father's death, but her name does not appear in the film credits.

Personal life

When Thall last appeared on the series Mara la del Barrio in 1995, she was in a symbiose with actor Fernando Colunga. Tommy Mottola, a music executive, married Thalon Thalama on December 2, 2000. Both children were born in October 2007, and a son was born in June 2011. Thal'a has stated in her autobiography and elsewhere that she is deeply involved in God and believes strongly in God. She began studying Kabbalah in 2002 and included several of the city's symbols in her album El Sexto Sentido's artwork. She mistakenly revealed in an interview that she had multiple miscarriages that caused her depression in 2015, making her depression worse and giving her anxiety.

Laura Zapata and Ernestina Sodi, two of Thal's sisters, were kidnapped in Mexico City in September 2002. Zapata was released 18 days after her kidnapping, and her sister Ernestina was released on the 36th day. Thal'a has had a string of familial disputes, especially with her sister Laura Zapata. Despite the abuses she has received from her older sister, she has chosen to keep her family affairs private. Thala said in a press interview that her family's problems with her sister are "just a black cloud in a brilliant sky."

Lyme disease, a common disease transmitted by ticks, affected Thal's in 2008. The illness prevented her from promoting her album Lunada, but it did act as a way to have a completely different outlook on life. Thala's autobiography stated, "I would sweat profusely, soaking my pajamas, the sheets, and even the mattress; everything hurt, including my hair, which, by the way, is starting to fall out." My ears ached in their sockets at times as if my head were going to burst; my eyes ached in their sockets; and even tried to handle the bed sheets.

Thalía Career

Music career

Thala's nine-year-old grandmother was included in a children's group named Pac Man, which was established to perform in a famous music festival named Juguemos a cantar ("Let's play like we're singing"), a television show produced by Televisa. Later, Pac Man changed their band name to "Din-Din." Thala appeared at various times in occasional events and parties throughout Mexico, as well as Din-Din. Between 1982 and 1983, the band released a total of four studio albums (En acción, Recordando el Rock and Roll, Somos al special and Pitubailando) before the band was disbanded later.

Thal'a performed as a solo artist in two annual music festivals in Juguemos a cantar after Din-Din broke up in 1984. With her interpretation of "Modern rock girl") ("Modern rock girl"), she came second; she earned the opportunity to perform and perform in the chorus of the influential musical Grease, which was a youth version of the famous musical Grease, in which the band Timbiriche was playing and singing. Sasha Sökol, Benny Ibarra, Erik Rubn, Diego Schoening, Mariana Garza, and Paulina Rubio were among the band's line-up members. Timbiriche was well-known at the time by Televisa, one of the world's most prominent media companies and the most important in the Spanish-speaking world. Thal'a performed in 500 theater performances of Vaselina some time after, as did Timbiriche.

Thala became a member of the band in 1986, following Sasha Sökol's departure from Timbiriche. Timbiriche had already released five albums by that time. In 1987, she made her television debut in an episode of the telenovela Pobre seorita Limantour. Thala performed the principal protagonist of the juvenile telenovela Quincea ("Fifteen-year-old"), with Timbiriche, in which she co-protagonist with Beatriz. In 1988, "Premios TVyNovelas" named Thala as the "Best telenovela," and "Premios TVyNovelas" named the show as "the best new actress of 1988."

Timbiriche, Thal'a released four studio albums: Timbiriche VII (1987), Timbiriche VIII (1988), and Los clásicos de Timbiriche (1989). The last one is a compilation of the band's greatest hits, released in 1987, with new symphonic arrangements that included the participation of Mexico's philharmonic orchestra. Thala's mother left Timbiriche in 1989. She also appeared in another television series, Luz y sombra ("Light and Shadow"), in which she was her first protagonist role in the year. A few years ago, she returned to Los Angeles to take English classes at the University of California. Before starting her career as a solo artist, she took music, singing, acting, and dancing lessons.

Thala, a Mexican artist, released her first studio album as a solo artist in 1990, published by Televisa's record label, Fonovisa. "Amarillo Azul," "Pienso en Ti," "Un Pacto Entre los Dos," and "Saliva" were three singles off the album's catalog, with "Amarillo Azul," "Pienso en Ti," "Un Pacto Entre los Dos" and "Saliva." The last two tracks were co-written by her and D. Ordaz, and they were even described as a "Un Pact Entre Los Dos" by some far-right groups at the time (Un Pact Among the Dos" was even referred to as a song with occult Satan-worship lyrics.

Thal's second studio album, Mundo de cristal, was released in September 1991, marking Thala's last project in collaboration with Alfredo Daz Ordaz. Four songs became radio hits off the album, and all of them had a huge radio audience in Mexico. The album was awarded double gold in Thal's home country, Mexico, due to the success of the singles. Thala, co-presenter of the late Spanish show VIP Noche, was produced by Telecinco in the same year.

She released her third studio album and her last under the same name Love, which was released in Spain and was directed by Luis Carlos Esteban. The album had six singles with huge radio success: "Sangre," "Love," "Mar" ("official theme of the TV series), "No Trates de Enga" ("Flor de Juventud"), and "La vie en rose"), with the last one being a Spanish-French interpretation of Edith Piaf's classic French song originally performed by Edith Piaf. Thal wrote the song "Sangre" after being inspired in D.Az Ordaz, with whom she had broken up her sentimental association. Critics lauded the album as an artistic evolution for Thala, who performed for the first time in many music styles, especially experimental music. In 1993, the album debuted at number 15 on Billboard's Latin Pop Albums. It sold over 200,000 copies in the first month since its debut, and within a few months, it gained platinum and gold status, despite a commercial triumph all over Latin America.

Thala Thal, a singer from Marimar, agreed to En éxtasis, her fourth studio album. In October 1995, the album was released. Emilio Estefan, Jr. (husband of Cuban singer Gloria Estefan) and scar López were among En éxtasis's respected designers, such as Emilio Estefan, Jr. (husband of Cuban singer Gloria Estefan) and scar López. The album produced a total of seven singles, including "Piel morena," "Amándote," "Mara la barrio," "Gracias a Dios," "Me Faltas T" and "Lágrimas." Piel Morena's international success came from being named the best Spanish song ever in the United States from a survey released by mass media company Univision. Also because Thal was more influenced by various music genres, it must also be stated that it was more oriented to the latin pop music style on that record. In 1996, Amandote became a top-one hit in various radio stations in the Philippines, as well as her legendary Manila tour. It was compared to Pope John Paul II's 1995 Manila visit by Philippine media. By the time of 1996, the telenovelas Mar del barrio, Marimar, and Mar del barrio had already converted Thala to a global television sensation. Nandito Ako, four songs from the album En éxtasis and a Spanish remix of the song Amándote, was released in January 1997. Nandito Ako, the only one from this album's catalog, was released. As a result of Thal's increasing success, the album became a commercial success in the Philippines, earning platinum status from the Philippine Association of the Record Industry. En éxtasis was her first album to be released around the world, receiving gold, platinum, or multi-platinum status in more than 20 countries.

Thal's fifth studio album was released in July 1997, under the name Amor a la mexicana, developed again by Emilio Estefan, and containing songs such as "Mujer Latina," "De dónde soy," "Noches sin luna," and "Amor a la mexico." The album's first single ("Amor a la mexicana") became a top-one hit in 14 countries, with the album becoming a top-five hit in 14 countries. Thal a la mexico, a Mexicana, was able to bring her music and develop her career in difficult markets like France, Belgium, Switzerland, Greece, Hungary, Hungary, Poland, Portugal, Italy, and all Spanish-speaking countries.

Thala produced the Spanish and Portuguese versions of the song "Journey to the Past," produced by Atlantic Records as a part of the Fox Animation Studios film Anastasia (1997), which was inspired by Amor a la mexicana's success.

She appeared in "Mambo Café," written and directed by Reuben González, for the first time in an English film in the following year. In January 2000, Mambo Café opened in Mexico, Greece, and Russia, with Kushner Locke Entertainment distributing it.

Thala returned to television in 1999, after Mambo Café, with telenovela Rosalinda. Since it was exported in over 180 countries, "Rosalinda" was expected to be Televisa's most costly production ever, as well as the most exported in foreign countries. "The telenovelas are the ones that opened the doors of the world for me," Thala said in an interview with her period; the telenovelas are much more passionate than the cinema audience. What's more, television is free."

Emilio Estefan's sixth studio album, Arrasando, was also released on April 25, 2000, which was a hit. It was born the singles "Entre el mar yu una estrella," "Regresa a m," "Arrasando," and "Reencarnación." Thal'a was nominated in the Latin Grammy category for the "Best Female Pop Vocal Album" category. The album received one Latin Grammy Award and was voted the "Best Sound Engineered Album of the Year" in its category. This album's singles were huge hits. She was nominated for her album Arrasando in 2001 and received a Lo Nuestro award in the category of People's Prize, and became the first artist to receive a Billboard Awards for Latin Music's innovative award, the "Star Award."

The President of the United States, George W. Bush, welcomed her to a party in honor of Cinco de mayo, where she performed a medley of famous Mexican songs with a Mexican mariachi band on 4 Mayo.

Con Banda: Grandes Éxitos: a "great hits" album on August 28, 2001, but with the typical Mexican "banda" sound. As a single, the "Amor a la Mexicana" banda version was released. At the 3rd Annual Latin Grammy Awards in 2002, the album was nominated for a Latin Grammy Award for "Best Banda Album."

Thala, her seventh studio album, was released on May 22, 2002. Estéfano wrote and produced it a lot. Two chart-topping singles ("T y Yo" and "No me ense"), as well as a top-ten hit ("A quién le importa") have been boosted by a slew of chart-topping hits ("A quién le importa?" (cover of Alaska y Dinarama), this album debuted on the Top Latin Albums chart for six weeks in a row, peaking at number eleven on the Billboard 200 chart and 2x Multi-Platinum for the United States with sales of 200,000 copies in the United States. It was nominated in one Latin Grammy category, "Female Vocal Album," and "Tropical Track Female" and "You Choose A Winner" for Thala, winning the last two awards in four Latin Billboard categories, "No Me Ense," "Your World Award" and "Female Pop Album." The word "No Me Ense" came at No. 1. In Billboard's Hot Latin Tracks chart, 1 is at number one.

Thal's Hits Remixed, she released her first remix album on February 25, 2003. This collection includes some remixes of her EMI era hits, including "Amor a la Mexicana," "Piel Morena," "No Me Ense" and "T y Yo." It also includes the English version of "Arrasando": "It's My Party" in the book. In addition, the previously unidentified medley that Thala had filmed for her 2001 Latin Grammy Awards appearance but was later cancelled due to the September 11 attacks.

In The Billboard 200, there are 11 people on The Billboard 200. "I Want You" by Casey Kasem debuted in the American Top 40 and even surpassed the top ten this year. That year, the album also made it to the American Billboard Top 100 Singles Charts. "Dance Dance (The Mexican)" was named the recipient of an International Dance Music Award for her club-hit "Dance Dance (The Mexican)" (The Mexican).

Thala's first official Greatest Hits album was released on February 10, 2004, and her singles "Cerca de ti" and "Acción y Reacción" were among the tracks from this collection. "High Voltage Tour" took her to the United States and Mexico in April and May.

El Sexto Sentido, her ninth studio album, was released on July 19, 2005, and mainly in Spanish, but a few of the songs were performed in English as well. In 2005, it was announced that it was the most expensive music album ever made in Latin America. It had minimal success, but the music and general result made it one of her most integrated projects. "Amar sin ser amada" was the album's first single and is regarded as an infectious rock-edged tango-based song. The album's second single, "Un alma sentenciada," is a tumultuous and, at times, hyperdramatic ballad. Both "Seducción" ("seduction") and "Olvidame" were released as singles, gaining a lot of traction. The album was also awarded gold in Argentina, Greece, and Mexico, as well as double platinum in the United States.

El Sexto Sentido: Reloaded Edition was released on the album in 2006, and it was re-released. Cantando Por Un Sueo, a Mexican television reality show, was Thala's 'godmother'. It was said she had been charged 1 million dollars to perform. Thala produced the show's title song, which was also included on the album. It was released in Mexico on February 13, 2006 (U.S. 6 June, Spain 29 May) and it includes four new songs, one of which is a duet with the group Aventura, "No, No, No" which became a big hit. "El Sexto Sentido" was nominated for one Latin Grammy as "Best Female Vocal Album," and in eight Premios Juventud categories.

Thala was admitted as a United States citizen at a swearing-in ceremony in New York, where she and her husband reside. She is able to keep her Mexican citizenship under Mexican law. She has also been recognized by her then-music company EMI for the production of more than ten million copies of all her discography with the company.

Thala joined ABC Radio in March 2007 to debut The Conexión Thala Radio Show, where she addresses music, fashion, research, and political topics.

She was named one of the 50 Most Beautiful People in Espaol 2008 for a record-breaking seventh time, when they dubbed her their "Queen" for the seventh time. For the eighth time, she appeared in the 2010 issue for the eighth time.

Acting career

Thalia appeared in a supporting role in the 1986 telenovela Pobre segretour, where she began her association with Televisa, the country's biggest mass media corporation. In 1987, she and Mexican actress Adela Noriega appeared in their first major role for Televisa in the 1987 teenage drama series Quincea. Quincea was named Best Telenovela of the Year 1988 by the TV y Novelas Award for Best Telenovela of the Year 1988. She was born in 1989 and played her first role in Luz y Sombra, which was less popular.

Thal'a came to fame in 1992 when she received the Y Novelas Award for Best Young Actress for the first time in 1992. Las Tres Marias ("The Three Marques") later received a television series with the character name revealed. Marimar began in 1994 and Maria la del Barrio in 1995. Marimar was the most commercially successful of her career, and it has remained her most legendary role, according to some commentators, while others have rated her as the best telenovela of all time. Thala appeared in her last telenovela, "Rosalinda," in 1999. The four telenovelas were basically based on the same rags to riches formula as the one in rags to riches. Thala's telenovelas became internationally known for their high success in more than 180 countries (especially the Philippines).

Although Thal's presence on television is legendary, her presence in cinema is less important. In the 1979 film "La Guerra De los Pasteles" ("The War of the Cakes"), she appeared for the first time in a film as a child. In addition,, she appeared in "Mambo Café," a modest indie film project that received largely critical feedback.

Thal's reputation in television during the '90s was lauded by several mass media companies as the "queen of soap operas," because of her presence in television during this period. She starred in Mexico's top-rated telenovelas ever, which were exported to over 180 countries and watched by nearly 2 billion viewers, making her one of the world's most popular and enduring television stars. Experts from around the world have observed that Thal's name became synonymous with her native country, Mexico, at some point during the telenovela craze.

"Everything in Côte d'Ivoire stops at 7.30 p.m. in the evening, when Marimar comes on." In addition, it was reported that "Marimar" could attract more local fans than the 1998 World Cup, and that the service in Africa has arrived in Africa after being a massive ratings success in Indonesia and the Philippines, where in 1997 she was welcomed in Manila as a foreign head of state.

Thal's autobiography, "Soap operas made a lot of history" in Africa and Paris, where people halted their daily life in order to watch a soap opera. I never imagined that kind of success [...] I never imagined myself as royalty, whether I was referred to as Queen, Mexico's ambassador, or ambassador of Mexico; and, as the Mexican Queen, or a proud peacock, I carried my country's flag with me wherever I went to represent my motherland. [...] I was in the clouds at the pinnacle of my career [...] The officials told me that the last time so many people gathered in the streets for a person was when Pope John Paul the Second appeared in the Philippines was more widely promoted than the 1998 World Cup and more rated than the Super Bowl or Grammys. In fact, when I was in the country, the people and the media were so excited to see Marimar in the flesh that a landmark peace deal between the government and the guerillas and the centennial celebrations of the Philippine Revolutions were put into place at the same time, but in the midst of Marimar fever was pushed aside. As a result, the archipelago was briefly named "Repblica de MariMar" for the Spanish island.

The phenomenon of Thal's telenovelas also became evident in countries such as Brazil, Bulgaria, Egypt, France, Germany, Hungary, Greece, Hungary, Egypt, Greece, Hungary, Malaysia, Lebanon, Portugal, Romania, Syria, Turkey, and the majority of Spanish-speaking countries around the world.
