Teresa Giudice (JOO-ditch-Ay, Italian) [te'rza dudite]; née Gorga; born May 18, 1972) is an American television actress best known for appearing in The Real Housewives of New Jersey. Giudice wrote several New York Times bestseller books and was included on Donald Trump's The Celebrity Apprentice 5 (2012), in addition to appearing on the show.

She was released from jail after 11 months of a 15-month term for fraud, but her husband and four children remained in Montville, New Jersey, in the Towaco section. She is known for her lavish lifestyle and a publicized financial and legal challenges leading up to her jail term. In March 2016, her husband, born Giuseppe but nicknamed Joe, began his 41-month term.

Early life

Teresa Gorga, a native of Paterson, New Jersey, was born to Giacinto and Antonia Gorga, two Italian immigrants from Sala Consilina, Campania. Giuseppe "Joey" Gorga, her younger brother, was brought up in the Roman Catholic faith. At Berkeley College in New Jersey, she studied fashion marketing.

Personal life

Teresa was married to Giuseppe "Joe" Giudice (an Italian citizen who was born in Saronno, Italy, and brought by his parents when he was a one-year-old) who had worked as a building designer and restauranteur in New Jersey. Giudice was a competitive bodybuilder after being released from jail.

Antonia Gorga, Teresa Giudice's mother, died in March 2017. Giacinto Gorga, her father, died on April 3, 2020.

In 2004, Teresa Giudice's brother, Joe Gorga, married Melissa Gorga. Teresa and Melissa's rivalry on The Real Housewives of New Jersey lasted for three seasons from 2011 to 2013. Teresa was found guilty and sentenced to 11 months in jail, and their friendship started blossoming.

Giudice and her husband had divorced after 20 years of marriage in December 2019. This was due to infidelity and prison convictions, as seen on the reality television show. Teresa applied for divorce a few months later, but a rep announced that the divorce had been approved in September 2020.

Giudice began dating Luis Ruelas in July 2020, and they became engaged in October 2021. In August 2022, the couple married in August 2022.

Giudice worked with Macy's as an associate buyer. Since season 1, she has been a cast member of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.

Giudice has co-authored three bestsellers that feature recipes handed down from her mother: Skinny Italian (May 4, 2010), Fabulicious (May 3, 2011), and Fabulicious! Fast & Fit (May 8, 2012), as well as a book co-written with K.C. Baker turning the tables: From housewife to prisoner and back again, revolving around her time in jail. Standing Strong, Giudice's sixth book, Standing Strong, was published on October 3, 2017. Both four books have been named New York Times Best Sellers. Giudice also created Fabellini, a line of bellini cocktails, as well as a Jel Sabella haircare line named after Giudice's daughter Milania.

Giudice, a student at the University of On the evening, she appeared on The Celebrity Apprentice 5 (also known as The Apprentice 12), and later raised $70,000 for her chosen charity, The NephCure Foundation. After placing fifth in episode 12, she was dropped in episode 12 (airdate May 6, 2012).

She is a member of Project Ladybug, a charity founded by fellow RHONJ co-star Dina Manzo.

In May 2017, Giudice, Joe Gorga, and Melissa Gorga opened Gorga's Homemade Pasta & Pizza in East Hanover, New Jersey. The restaurant was closed in January 2018.

Giudice appeared in The Real Housewives Ultimate Girls Trip, a spin-off of The Real Housewives franchise that premiered in Peacock in November 2021.

Giudice was announced as a contestant on season 31 of Dancing with the Stars on September 8, 2022. She was partnered with Pasha Pashkov. They were eliminated week two after finishing in 15th place.
