Mohd Syamsul bin Mohd Yusof (born on May 21, 1984) is a Malaysian actor, film director, scriptwriter, film editor, rapper, and singer.
He is the son of popular director Yusof Haslam and an older brother of Syafiq Yusof, who is also an actor and director.
He set the record as the youngest Malaysian Film Festival winner, despite being 26 years old.

Early life
Syamsul Yusof was born on May 21, 1984, and he grew up in Kuala Lumpur. Yusof Haslam is the son of a well-known producer. Syafiq Yusof, his brother, is a well-known film producer. Rizal Ashref and Sabrina Ali, as well as half-brother Faizal Yusof, are also actors. Both Syafiq and Faizal have worked in film production. Career
Syamsul Yusof began to produce and appeared in many television series for RTM and TV3 from 2003 to 2007, such as Gerak Khas, Sembilu Kasih, Air Mata Maria, and Tragedi Oktober. He produces Evolusi KL Drift, his first feature film co-written by him and his cousin Rizal Ashreff and was initially rejected by his father for further revision. With a budget of RM 1.35 million, his first film project was finally accepted. Despite his lack of directing experience and the sting of protecting his family's name, Evolusi KL Drift was welcomed upon its debut on April 3, 2008. The film's success paved the way for several other directorial ventures.
Following the success of his directorial debut, his sophomore film Bohsia: Jangan Pilih Jalan Hitam, which had received unwanted attention due to the film title's problems with the vulgar language used and certain copyright issues. But he was able to get through. Despite the controversies, the film continued to be a hit. He went on to direct Evolusi KL Drift's sequel, which was announced on March 25, 2010. The film was a critical and box-office hit, with Syamsul winning the Best Director award at the 23rd Malaysia Film Festival.
Khurafat, Perjanjian Syaitan's first horror film directed by him and Liyana Jasmay in lead roles. It was announced on January 13th, 2011 that it had a net worth of RM 8 million to the surprise of film thespians. Critics praised his first attempt at directing the horror film. He also joined KL Gangster's roster for a year, being cautious in its production. Despite competition from foreign films screening during this time, the film earned almost RM 12 million, twice what his father did with Sembilu II. He produced Aku Bukan Tomboy, his first comedy film starring Scha Alyahya as Farisha/Eisha. The film was released on November 17, 2011, followed by Jalan Kembali: Bohsia 2 (sequel to 2009 film) and KL Gangster 2. After three years of absence, Syamsul's new film, Munafik, was released in Malaysian cinemas in February 2016. In a mystery science fiction film Desolasi directed by his brother Syafiq Yusof, he appeared mentally impaired guy named Aiman, which was released on December 8, 2016. Syamsul appears in the biographical romantic film Makrifat Cinta, which was released in February 2018.
Syamsul also dabbles in music. Back then, he produced The Love Legacy with Anwar Fazal. "Bidadari," "Apakah Semuanya Itu" (used as the soundtrack for Evolusi KL Drift 2), "Ya Robbi" (soundtrack for Khurafat), and "Hingga Dunia" were among the EP's tracks. In 2016, he released "Kalah Dalam Menang," a tribute to singer Mawi. The song was used as the theme tune for his new film, Munafik. He continued his collaboration with Mawi on a later album titled "Bukan Propaganda" and used as a soundtrack to Desolasi.
Syamsul revealed on Instagram that he is working on a screenplay for Munafik 3, a sequel to the critically acclaimed Munafik 2 and the third installment in the Munafik film series.
