He came into prominence for his role as Gutthi on Comedy Nights with Kapil, but he gained a following for his portrayal of Dr. Mashoor Gulati on The Kapil Sharma Exhibition.

Personal life
Grover was born in Mandi Dabwali, Haryana's third district, on August 3, 1977. He earned a Master's Degree in Theatre from Panjab University Chandigarh. He is married to Aarti and has a son, Mohan.
Grover died of a heart attack in February 2022 and had to have four bypass surgeries.
Acting career
Grover was discovered during his college days by late satirist and comedian Jaspal Bhatti. In the first 26 episodes, he appeared in India's first silent comedy series, SAB TV's Gutur Gu.
He made his television debut with Chala Lallan Hero Banne on Filmy in 2000.
He gained a lot of fame from Kapil's comedy show Comedy Nights, and he became well-known for his comedies such as Gutthi, Rinku Bhabi, and Dr. Mashoor Gulati. In the series, he also imitates well-known Bollywood stars like Amitabh Bachhan and several others. However, Sunil left the program after a confrontation with his co-actor Kapil Sharma.
Grover returned to television with Star Plus's Kanpur Wale Khuranas as the host soon after leaving Kapil's show. The show was similar to that of The Kapil Sharma Show, but it wasn't long and soon went off air.
Grover debuted in Punjab film with Valiant Kaokhi List in 2016, and in the same year he portrayed Shraddha Kapoor's father in Baaghi, Vaindra Kapoor's father.
In August 2020, he made a comeback to television with the film Gangs of Filmistan on Star Bharat, where he appeared in Bhindi Bhai. In October 2020, the show came to an end.
Grover played Gurpal Chauhan in the 2021 political drama web series Tandav, directed by Ali Abbas Zafar, with an ensemble cast of Saif Ali Khan, Tigmanshu Dhulia, Kumud Mishra, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayyub, Gauahar Khan, Amyra Dastur, Kritika Mridul, Anup Soni, and Dino Morea. He portrayed Sonu Singh in the thriller web-series Sunflower, for which he shed almost 8.1 kilos.
