Steve McCrory (April 13, 1964 – August 1, 2000) was an American boxer who earned the Flyweight Gold medal at the 1984 Summer Olympics in Detroit, Michigan.
He earned a bronze medal at the 1983 Pan American Games a year earlier.
Personal life
McCrory is the brother of former WBC Welterweight champion Milton McCrory.
Professional career
McCrory, nicknamed the Bluesman, began his career in 1984 and challenged IBF Bantamweight Championship holder Jeff Fenech in 1986. Fenech dominated and triumphed in the 14th round of TKO. This was to be McCrory's last shot at a major title, but he then went to Super Featherweight and was defeated by Jesse James Leija.
