Steve Cardenas Career

Career

Cardenas, 20, left Texas and settled in Los Angeles to audition for a Mighty Morphin Power Rangers role that would change his life. Rocky DeSantos' character was replaced by Jason Lee Scott in the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers TV series and then became the Blue Zeo Ranger for Power Rangers Zeo. He had no previous acting experience and had to learn on the job. Cardenas left the Power Rangers franchise and retired from playing during Power Rangers Turbo due to contractual differences, and it was likely to concentrate on his martial arts career. Many years ago, beginning at the 2007 Power Morphicon convention, he began attending convention appearances with other former cast members.

He owns two martial arts studios in Burbank, California, and one in San Antonio, Texas, after Power Rangers. He began a kids-specific service at a Hollywood Brazilian jiu-jitsu studio in West Hollywood in 2009, and in 2011, he founded Force/Balance Brazilian jitsu Yoga Academy. After losing a friendly match against a "blue belt" in BJJ, the Cardenas had become interested in Brazilian jiujitsu [he] choked me out in ten seconds. At that time, he was only training for a year and a half, and I had been training for ten years. "It was a right eye opener." The style was more difficult to grasp than in other martial arts disciplines.

He has received multiple awards from martial arts competitions, including two Silver Medals at Copa Pacifica, Gold Medal in the 2010 American National Championship, and Silver Medal in the 2010 No-Gi World Championships.

He appeared in the short film The Order in 2017, starring Austin St. John, Catherine Sutherland, David Yost, Johnny Yong Bosch, Paul Schrier, Karan Ashley, Walter Emanuel Jones, Nakia Burrise, Dan Southworth, Dan Southworth, Deborah Estelle Phillips, and Azim Rizk.

Cardenas returned to Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel for the first time since Power Rangers Turbo, portraying Rocky DeSantos in Power Rangers Super Ninja Steel for the 25th anniversary episode.
