Stefanie Heinzmann Life

Stefanie Heinzmann (born 10 March 1989) is a Swiss pop star and television presenter.

She became public interest in early 2008 when she won SSDSDWEMUGABRTLAD, a talent competition hosted in Stefan Raab's late-night show TV total on the German ProSieben network, raising her profile in early 2008.

Heinzmann's debut single "My Man Is a Mean Man" debuted on the Swiss Singles Chart and became a top ten hit in Austria and Germany following her victory.

Masterplan's pop soul-influenced album was released in March 2008 and made it to the top ten in Austria and Germany, as well as a number one in Switzerland, where it was ranked as platinum by the IFPI for more than 30,000 copies sold.

Several singles from this album, as well as "Diggin' in the Dirt" and "In the End," all became top ten hits on German-speaking Europe, including her cover version of Metallica's "The Unforgiven" and "In the End".

Heinzmann, one of the best-selling Swiss artists to emerge in the late 2000s, has received numerous prestigious awards as a recording artist, including Prix Walo, the 1LIVE Krone, a Comet, a Swiss Music Award, the Radio Regenbogen Award, and the 2009 ECHO Award.

Heinzmann has been featured as a mentor on two seasons of the reality competition television series The Voice of Switzerland and the talent series Popstars, in addition to her music career.

Stefanie Heinzmann Career

Early life and career beginnings

Heinzmann was born in Visp, Switzerland, in the canton of Valais. She is Berti and Albi Heinzmann-Martig's only daughter, and Claudio Heinzmann's younger sister, who was a music manager and singer-songwriter on his own. Heinzmann attended the Kollegium Brig's business school for athletes and artists.

She began her music career in 2005 as the lead singer of the rock band Bigfisch. Local radio station Radio Rottu Oberwallis (RRO)'s first single "Chumm ins Wallis" (Swiss German for "Come to Valais") was a local airplay hit of the year) in 2007. In summer 2007, her brother encouraged Heinzmann to compete in Stefan Raab's talent competition, sponsored by commercial television network ProSieben. She was chosen one of the top 20 participants in the competition, and with her interpretations of soul, jazz, and funk by Macy Gray, Norah Jones, and Joss Stone's likes, she qualified for the final show on January 10. Heinzmann performed two songs, "Only So Much Oil in the Ground," a Tower of Power cover, and "My Man Is a Mean Man," which was specifically selected for her. The audience selected Heinzmann as the show's champion through televoting, defeating the two remaining contestants, Steffi List and Gregor Meyle. The music video for "My Man Is a Mean Man" was shot on the night of the final and premiered on German television channels a few days later.

Recording career

The day after the final, Heinzmann's "My Man Is a Mean Man" went on sale. The single shot climbed to the top of the Swiss Singles Chart and landed in the top ten in Austria and Germany, where it became one of the year's top newcomers. The song was eventually certified platinum in Germany by the Bundesverband Musikindustrie (BVMI), as well as in China. Masterplan, Paul NZA and Marek Pompetzki's first album, was released on March 7, 2008, throughout German-speaking Europe. Like the single, it reached the top ten in Austria and Germany, debuted at number one on the Swiss Albums Chart, where it was eventually certified platinum for more than 30,000 copies sold. Masterplan sold more than 300,000 copies around Europe, winning the singer many trophies, including the Prix Walo, the 1LIVE Krone, a Swiss Music Award, and the 2009 ECHO Award for Best Female Artist National Rock/Pop. On November 19, 2008, a reissue of the album featured the previously unveiled track "The Unforgiven," a Metallica cover that became her second top ten hit in Germany.

Heinzmann began performing on a festival concert tour from May to September 2008, touring venues around Germany and Switzerland in support of the album. Heinzmann and her brother founded heinzmann-productions GmbH in May 2008. Claudio is the board chairman, while Stefanie is elected as the company's official CEO. Heinzmann's second album Roots to Grow was released in September 2009. The singer re-teamed with production team NZA and Pompetzki to work on the majority of the album, which includes songwriting credits for Joss Stone, Rick Nowels, Guy Chambers, Lucie Silvas, SoShy, and Bryn Christopher, as well as recordings with singers such as Gentleman and Ronan Keating. Roots to Grow debuted on the Swiss Albums Chart and climbed to the top of the German Top 20 but was less successful than its predecessor Masterplan (2008). On the Swiss Singles Chart, the leading single "No One (Can Ever Change My Mind)" reached the top spot.

In 2010, Heinzmann began working on her self-titled third studio album. Following the release of her previous albums' rushed recordings, the singer wanted to participate more in the album's production, for which she co-wrote or conceptualized several songs. She re-teamed with NZA and Pompetzki to work on the album, as well as involving singers and songwriters Eric Bazilian, Jamie Cullum, Ian Dench, Sharon Smith, Kim Sanders, and Kim Sanders. Stefanie Heinzmann, who appeared on German-speaking Europe on March 16, 2012, debuted at number three on the Swiss Singles Chart and climbed to the top ten in Germany as well as the top 30 in Austria. The album's first single, lead single "Diggin' in the Dirt," debuted at number six in Switzerland, where the song became her first top ten since "My Man Is a Mean Man." In 2012, it was announced that Heinzmann would appear on the jury of the debut season of the SRF1 reality talent show The Voice of Switzerland.

Heinzmann's fourth album Chance of Rain was released in 2015. Heinzmann's collaboration with Berlin production company Beatgees and Swedish duo Electric on the majority of the album represented a departure from her previous work. Chance of Rain's overall sound deviated from that of pop soul sounds on her previous projects, especially "Stranger in This World." Despite failing to chart on the Austrian Albums Chart, Chance of Rain became her fourth top-five album in Switzerland, where it debuted and peaked at number four and remained 39 weeks on the Swiss Albums Chart. It also ranked in the top twenty of the German Albums Chart. Heinzmann's third top ten hit and most high-charging single since "Diggin' in the Dirt" debuted on the Swiss Singles Chart, at number nine. Heinzmann, singer Miss Platnum, and dancer Bella Garcia were among the jury of the German revival of the RTL II network talent series Popstars, which followed the formation of the short-lived girl group Leandah in May 2015. Heinzmann received the MTV Europe Music Award for Best Swiss Act earlier this year.

Heinzmann's single "Build a House," a collaboration with German DJ and producer Alle Farben, was released in September 2018. Heinzmann's debut into the dance pop arena dominated the Swiss Singles Chart, launching it with her fifth studio album All We Need Is Love, where she recommended producers Steffen Graef, John Gordon, and Sune Haansbk to collaborate with her. It was Heinzmann's first album to top the Swiss Albums Chart since her 2008 debut album Masterplan. The album featured three singles, including lead single "Mother's Heart" and sequel "Shadows," which failed to chart but received radio airplay. She began travelling around Switzerland, Austria, and Germany in November 2019. She received the Best Female Act at the 13th Swiss Music Awards just three months later.

Heinzmann, Sipf, Ritschi, Marc Storace, Steff la Cheffe, and Loco Escrito appeared on the debut season of the Swiss version of The Best Singers series in February 2020. Gran Canaria's episodes were shot prior to social unrest and the COVID-19 pandemic, according to Broadcast on TV24. Heinzmann's live performances ranked fifth on the Swiss Albums Chart, with five of Heinzmann's songs ranked among the top albums on the charts. In the second season of the German adaptation of the singing competition The Masked Singer, Heinzmann appeared as Dalmatiner. Marilyn Monroe's debut appearance in "Diamonds Are a Girl's Best Friend" came last, resulting in her dismissal at the end of the first episode. In May 2020, she represented Switzerland with her album "All We Need Is Love," a one-off music competition in the Eurovision style, run by ProSiebennet, as an alternative to the Eurovision Song Contest 2020, which was postponed due to the COVID-19 pandemic. With 66 points, she came in seventh place in seventh place.

Heinzmann, together with Johannes Oerding, DJ BoBo, Joris, Gentleman, Nura, and Mighty Oaks lead singer Ian Hooper shot the eighth season of the German version of The Best Singers in March 2021. In May 2021, a BBC on VOX programmed an episode at Gut Weißenhaus in Wangels due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Heinzmann's sixth studio album Labyrinth debuted on May 14, 2021.
