Sigurjón Birgir Sigurjón Sigurjón Birgir Sigursson (born 27 August 1962), also known as Sjón (SYOHN), is an Icelandic poet, novelist, and lyricist.
His pen name (which means "sight") is an abbreviation of his given name (Sigurjón).

Early life
Sjón, a boy who was born in Reykjavr, Iceland, grew up in the city's Brei holt district, where he lived with his mother. He began writing early and published Snir (Visions), his first book of poetry, in 1978 at the age of 16.
Personal life
Sjón has lived and worked in London, but he now lives in central Reykjavk with his wife. He has two adult children.
Career
He was one of the founding members of Medneo-surrealist group Medsa and played a vital role in Reykjavik's cultural scene.
Sjón has been active on the Icelandic music scene since the 1980s; he has performed with many of the best known musicians of the period, and was featured on a rare Sugarcubes 12" single "Luftgitar" in 1987, as a guest vocalist alongside Bjón and Einar rn Benediktsson. Sjón will occasionally reprise this role for the last two The Sugarcubes concerts, including the band's one-off 2006 reunion show in Reykjavk.
Sjón and Björk first met as teenagers, and the two musicians formed a two-person band called Rocka Rocka Drum together. Sjón wrote lyrics for her later in life, when Björk began her solo career in the 1990s. In 2000, the two partners joined up to write the song "I've Seen It All" for the film Dancer in the Dark, and as a result, Sjón and Björk received awards for "Best Original Song" at both the 2001 Golden Globes and the 2001 Academy Awards. Sjón was included in the film Inside Björk two years ago. At the 2004 Summer Olympics Opening Ceremony in Athens, Greece, Björk performed "Oceania" – a song written by the two artists together.
He wrote the screenplay and contributed to the original story for Anna and the Moods, which was released in 2007. He also appeared in the role of Dr. Artmann, who played him.
Sjón served as writer-in-residence at the Literaturhaus Zurich and the PWG Foundation in Zurich from August to December 2021.
With director Robert Eggers, he co-wrote The Northman, a 2022 film based on the legend of Viking prince Amleth. In the film, Björk appears in a supporting role as a seeress.
