Simon Rouse (born 24 June 1951) is an English actor best known for his portrayal of Detective Chief Inspector/Superintendent Jack Meadows in the long-running ITV police drama The Bill. He first appeared on The Bill as Jack Meadows, and he has appeared in thirteen guest appearances on The Bill. Jack Meadows was a regular between 1992 and 2010. Rouse was born in Heaton, Bradford, West Riding of Yorkshire, Yorkshire. * Before The Bill, he had been with the BBC for a long time, appearing twice in Play for Tomorrow, a Play for Tomorrow offshoot of the Play for Today series. * He appeared in the 1982 Doctor Who story Kinda as the deranged Hindle's debating Hindle and appeared as an unidentified character in Carla Lane's Bread as "Yizzel's mate."
