Christopher John Rosales Ongkiko (born February 13, 1992), who performs under the stage name Shehyee, is a Filipino rapper and occasional actor from Mandaluyong, Philippines.

He is best known for his hit singles "Trip Lang" and "Inspirasyon" from 2013.

He first gained attention for his years by playing and competing in the rap battle game FlipTop for several years; his battles were posted on YouTube, which gained millions of views and shares.

Shehyee and his companion Smugglaz came to fame by winning the 'Dos Por Dos Tournament' of the Associated league.

He came to fame as a songwriter, releasing several singles and an album later. Shehyee has also appeared in three films, including acting in three films.

In the 2014 Filipino blockbuster film Talk Back and You're Dead starring James Reid and Nadine Lustre, he is best known for his appearance as 'Piggy Gang'.

Rapping career

Shehyee fought rapping & came to fame by being a member of the culture-defining FlipTop Battle League, which paved the way for the emergence of the Philippine mainstream hip-hop scene. He won the Dos Por Dos tournament with Smugglaz defeating Abra and Loonie in 2012, solidifying Shehyee's status as a local battle rap household name. The video of their fight in the tournament's finale has more than 50,000 views as of 2022, holding the record for the most watched video in FlipTop's history. He became one of the country's "top rappers" shortly after being named on the list.

Shehyee's debut as a performer on the internet in 2013, Shehyee's debut self-titled album called Shehyee debuted on October 11, 2013. "Trip Lang," his debut single, was a top ten chart hit as well as reaching the top ten in other local charts in the Philippines. It was a hit in the United States, with 14 million views on YouTube and a million on Spotify. An author praised his second single, "Inspirasyon," about a journey of a hopeless romantic guy, as a "quality song." Several mall tours have been held under the same name that are promoting the album. On September 25, 2014, Shehyee released "Isang Umaga" a single about a guy who is worried about his marriage with his wife (played by Meg Imperial in the music video). In 2014, Shehyee and Donnalyn Bartolome collaborated on a project titled "Huwag Siya." He took first Spotify Emerge in Asia in July 2015 by defeating ten other artists from the continent, including Marion Aunor. At the 27th Awit Awards, the album's best hit, "Trip Lang," was named as Best Rap Recording at the 27th Awit Awards.

Shehyee revealed the debut of another album in 2015, but Shehyee's next album was postponed and no further announcements were made; however, it was widely predicted that this new album would be published in 2017. "Samalamig," Shehyee's label's YouTube channel, appeared on December 19, 2015. Kuya Jobert and rapper Zaito were featured in the music video three months after it was released. Shehyee & Donnalyn Bartolome's second collaborative single, "Pag Siya," debuted in 2014, which was reportedly a follow-up to their previous collaboration "Huwag Siya" which attracted twenty million viewers on YouTube.

Shehyee and rapper Sinio became the talk of the town on Saturday after a rap clash in which Shehyee's girlfriend Anne Mateo was introduced and chastised numerous times in an insensitive manner. After Mateo's mother warned him not to sue him, Sinio later apologised. With 48 million views, it was the second most watched video in the rap battle league's history, trailing the 2012 Dos Por Dos tournament final, which also featured Shehyee. Shehyee announced the music video for his track "Bituin" last year and announced the debut of his forthcoming new album.

Shehyee was the champion of a prestigious FlipTop's Isabuhay Tournament in 2018, where he came out as the champion against 15 other top battle emcees. Shehyee made history by winning the Dos Por Dos tournament, where he won with Smugglaz in 2012 as the first battle emcee in the popular battle rap league to become a champion both as an individual emcee and as a team captain.

"2020 Freestyle," "TAG," and "Aba Okay Din" were three Shehyee songs released on 2021. Since it became a sleeper viral hit via TikTok, he also re-recorded his 2015 non-album song "Samalamig." Shehyee's best hit "Trip Lang" went viral on TikTok after nearly seven years, and it was released under Viva Records on 2022.
