Shane Jacobson (born 18 March 1970) is an Australian actor, writer, and comedian best known as the "Dunny Guy" for his role as Kenny Smyth, a plumber for a portable toilet rental company in the 2006 film Kenny and Kenny's World.

He received the National Film Institute's Best Actor in a Leading Role Award in 2006.

On the Seven Network, he currently stars Little Big Shots, based on Steve Harvey's and Ellen DeGeneres' American series of the same name.

Jacobson was appointed as a judge on Australia's Got Talent in 2019.

Career

Jacobson began his acting career with amateur theatre and the Melbourne Gang Show at the age of 10. He began his comedy career at 18, musical theatre, stand-up, and MC gigs. He was also recruited to perform corporate duties, impersonating corporate logos and luminaries.

Jacobson's Gold FM radio station in Melbourne, Australia, hosted The 60 Minute Challenge on Sunday. Sergio the Hairdresser's character was also created by him, who appeared on Gold FM's Breakfast Show on a daily basis. Assisting in audience warm-ups for major television networks, Jacobson's focus eventually shifted to film, short films, and television commercials.

In 2006, Jacobson appeared in Kenny Smyth, a Melbourne plumber who works for plumbing company Splashdown. The film was a critical and financial success, and it is widely believed to have been Jacobson's break out role. In 2008, he reprised his role in Channel Ten's short-lived TV series Kenny's World.

Jacobson produced two Australian feature films Cactus, directed by Jasmine Yuen-Carrucan and released in theaters in May and Newcastle, directed by Dan Castle and released later in 2008.

In April 2008, he began to act Nicely Johnson in the big stage production Guys and Dolls. He received the "Best Support Actor in a Musical" award in 2008 for this role.

Jacobson guest co-hosted The Morning Show with Kylie Gillies on Saturday, when program regular male co-host Larry Emdur was on vacation.

Jacobson costarred in Charlie & Boots, an Australian film in which Boots (Jacobson) takes his father, Charlie (Hogan), on a road trip to fish on the northernmost tip of Australia in 2009 because of something his father told him as a child. In 2009, it had the best opening weekend for any Australian film ever, when it was announced on Father's Day. The film was shot on location and featured many small towns in Australia.

Jacobson was co-host of Top Gear Australia's short-lived car show Top Gear Australia, with Steve Pizzati and Ewen Page, from 28 September 2010 to 13 September 2011.

Jacobson would appear in the TV miniserie Beaconsfield Mine disaster, the story of the Beaconsfield Mine explosion, in June 2011, the Herald Sun announced in June 2011. Brant Webb played Brant Webb. It aired on Sunday, April 22nd, 2012.
