Sai Kham Leng, a Burmese rapper, pioneer of Burmese hip hop, model, novelist, and actor of ethnic Shan descent born in 1979.

He is regarded as the most commercially profitable male singer in Burmese hip hop history.

Early life and education

Sai Sai Kham Leng was born on April 10, 1979 in Taunggyi, Shan state, Myanmar, to Cho Cho San Leng and Cho Cho San Tun of an ethnic Shan aristocratic family. Sao San Tun, Saopha of Mongpawn, was a signatory to the 1947 Panglong Agreement and one of nine senior government officials assassinated on 19 July 1947.

Sai Sai is the eldest son of four siblings, having two younger sisters and a younger brother. His parents moved to Aungban for two years before returning to Taunggyi soon after he was born. In 1996, he graduated from high school in B.E.H.S(1) Taunggyi. When he was in the 4th grade (4th grade), his parents divorced. He was in two households soon after divorce, but he and his father died together. He didn't see his mother for another six years, but he didn't. In the eighth standard, Leng became a judo player. He has won district-level competitions in high school and competed in national youth championships in Yangon. He was accepted to Dagon University's major English subject and graduated in 2003 and then graduated with the English language from Yangon University of Foreign Languages (Post-grad Diploma).

Personal life

One of the most interesting friendships in Burmese pop culture was with actor Wut Hmone Shwe Yee. However, after a few years, they broke up. Sai is single and lives in Yangon. He was uncertain about marriage because he comes from a "broken family." He is a Theravada Buddhist.

Music career

Sai Sai moved to Yangon, Myanmar's capital, in 1997, to become a performer. He started out on his music career in 1998, when still a student and appeared in numerous karaoke music videos. Hip hop was new to Myanmar at the time and was not widely accepted by the general population at large.

Sai Sai started in 1999 with the intention of producing and releasing a solo album. In 2000, he released Chocolate Yayge Einmet (Chocolate-Colored Ice Dreams), his first album. The album was unfortunately a failure, but that didn't mean he couldn't stand up and try again. In 2001, the follow-up to his debut album "Thangegyin Myar Swar" (Mates) was released, and it proved to be a hit, giving him a platform to stand in Myanmar's music industry.

Sai Sai's third album, "February Mhat Tann," was released in 2003. "One Nal Mhat Tan," one of the album's songs, debuted in the country's top-one slot. Other hit singles followed, and the album was a commercial success. Sai became a household name, with hits like Thu Nge Chin Myar Swar, February Mhattan, Ever Golli, and Happy Sai Sai Birthday. Ba Sai established himself in 2004 with the launch of his album "Sai Sai Live in Yangon," which resulted in more hits.
