Nottingham Forest unveil huge revamp of their training ground backed by owner Evangelos Marinakis including improvements to the dining area, the gym and training pitches

Nottingham Forest's improvement this season is being driven by a huge revamp of their training ground that has transformed the club's preparation for matches. Owner Evangelos Marinakis is thought to have spent several million on upgrading the facilities at the club's Nigel Doughty Academy base not far from the City Ground and the venue is unrecognisable from how it looked when Forest were promoted in 2022. The dining area has been transformed from a basic canteen into a stylish restaurant, with communal areas that include table tennis and table football, comfortable chairs in front of a large TV screen, and even a barista serving high-quality coffees and smoothies.
How Nuno Espirito Santo built a tactical masterclass at Anfield: Liverpool's reality check should not spark mass panic but many may copy Nottingham Forest's blueprint, writes LEWIS STEELE

LEWIS STEELE: Liverpool had gone three from three without conceding a goal. Tougher tests lay ahead but he could not have asked for a better start after the significant jump from Feyenoord to the best league in the world. The following day, Mail Sport - and plenty of other outlets - waxed lyrical about 'Slotball' and how the Dutchman was taking English football by storm. Two weeks later, 'Slotball' was exposed by Nuno Espirito Santo's Nottingham Forest.
Sheffield United 1-3 Nottingham Forest: Visitors finally have a helping hand from VAR and take huge step towards Premier League survival as Callum Hudson-Odoi's brace seals crucial three points

TOM COLLOMOSSE AT THE CITY GROUND: Chris Wilder appeared to suggest the match officials had been influenced by Nottingham Forest's VAR complaints when they chose to allow Ryan Yates' goal early in the second half.
Forest hearts were in their mouths after Ryan Yates volleyed home early in the second half, as VAR Michael Salisbury checked for a foul by Murillo on Ben Brereton-Diaz. Yet the goal stood, Forest led 2-1 and made the points safe when Callum Hudson-Odoi claimed his second of the match - as already-relegated Sheffield United became the first team to concede 100 goals in a 38-game league season.
