She dabbled in music in her teens as the main vocalist for various groups in the province and city of Granada. In the 2000s, she gained fame as an artist by winning the first edition of Operación Triunfo, where she was given the nickname "Rosa de España." After that, she represented Spain in the Eurovision Song Contest 2002, which was the most followed in the country since there are official audience statistics and in which she obtained the seventh position with the song "Europe's living a celebration". It was her first musical success and reached number one on the Los 40 radio tally.

In 2002, she recorded his debut album, Rosa, which reached number one on the Promusicae chart with record sales. Music career

López, the first winner of Operation Triunfo, began her musical career by signing a three-album contract with Sony BMG Music, RCA Records, and Vale Music. She appeared in several television spots, including Todos Contra El Fuego for the Ministry of the Environment (along with fellow Operation Triunfo contestants), and for New World Jewels, the latter with a two-year contract. Armando Manzanero, Inma Serrano, and José Luis Perales' namesake studio album Rosa appeared on April 25, 2002, consisting of Latin pop genre compositions by songwriters including Armando Manzanero, Inma Serrano, and José Luis Perales. The album's first single, "Europe's Living a Celebration," debuted in Spain, and the album's hit list of radio Los 40 Principales was also sold over 500,000 copies. She placed 7th at the Eurovision Song Contest 2002 in Tallinn in "Europe's Living a Celebration." López toured Spain extensively in the summer after Eurovision, but not much. During the tour, she began having issues with her voice but continued to work until mid-September, when she called off the tour. López spent a year out of the public eye, and due to rumors, she called a press conference where she announced that she would soon return to the stage.

López's second album Ahora, released in 1998, was a dance-pop style. The album was a commercial success and surpassed sales expectations by debuting at number one twice in the official charts; its lead single "La esencia de tu voz" led Los 40 Principales' Top 10. Rosa López undertook a new phase in her professional career in 2006, having shed 40 kilos of fat, with a modern look and more mature themes. Mira quién baila, the Spanish version of Strictly Come Dancing), where she was named champion of the season in early 2006. Me siento viva, her fourth studio album, was released on May 30th, representing a major departure from her previous recordings, which were mixed by internationally respected sound engineers Ankelius Martin and Dan Hetzel.
