Ron Welty Life

Ronald "Ron" Welty (born in Long Beach, California) is the former drummer of the American punk rock band The Offspring.

Welty's tenure was the longest in the band's history (although Dexter Holland said in an interview that it was 1986) until March 18, 2003), beating new drummer Pete Parada, who has been a member of The Offspring for 12 years.

His time in the band marked atypical era in the band's history for the majority of followers. He had replaced James Lilja, their second drummer, and he was only 16 at the time of his joining.

However, he left to form Steady Ground, which he performed drums and co-produced.

He had appeared on The Offspring's first six studio albums before he announced his resignation, Ignition, Smash, Ixnay, and Conspiracy of One, the Hombre, Americana, and Conspiracy of One.

He left the band early in 2005, when they were touring and recording Splinter, their seventh studio album since its inception in December 2003. Steady Ground released three demos on Myspace, "I Can't Contain Myself," and "You Better Close Your Eyes." The band released Jettison, a 2007 album, but it was broken the following year.
