Rolando Mandragora Career

Club career

Mandragora is a resident of Scampia's north neighborhood. He was the head coach of the local football academy established by Paolo and Fabio Cannavaro. When at Mariano Keller and began working in Genoa's youth sector at age 14, Mandragora was scouted by Serie A clubs.

He made his Serie A debut against Juventus on October 29, 2014, beating Juventus 1–0 at home. He appeared in the first 69 minutes of the game before being replaced by Juraj Kucka.

Juventus reported the signing of Mandragora on a five-year contract for a €6 million initial fee, potentially increasing to €12 million based on results. He spent the remainder of the 2015-2016 season on loan at Pescara's Serie B side. He had a fractured metatarsal in his right foot in April 2016 that necessitated surgery. His recovery was stifled due to complications, and he was forced to have a second surgery in August.

Mandragora wore the number 38 shirt when he returned to Juventus for the 2016–17 season. In Serie A, he made his Juventus debut on April 23, 2017, starting as a replacement for Claudio Marchisio in the 86th minute of a 4–0 home win over his former club Genoa.

Mandragora was loaned to Crotone's top-flight squad for the season on August 5th. He appeared in only two of his league games, beginning each one as the Calabrian club lost relegation and played two goals; the first of his career was on September 24 against Benevento.

Mandragora was sold to Udinese's sister Serie A, but Juventus kept a buy-back option for €20 million.

After being unable to shoot Sampdoria, Mandragora protested insults against the Virgin Mary and God in August 2018.

Mandragora scored his first goal for Udinese on December 22, 2018 causing a 1-1 home draw with Frosinone. In a 2–0 victory over Cagliari, also at the Stadio Friuli, he was given a straight red card by the video assistant referee.

During a 1–0 loss to Torino on June 23, Mandragora sustained an anterior cruciate ligament injury, which was ruled out for more than four months.

Juventus reported on October 3rd that Mandragora had rejoined the club on a five-year contract for €10.7 million, while Udinese was on loan for the remainder of the 2020–21 season. The agreement also included an optional one-year loan extension and a potential payment to Udinese based on his performance.

Mandragora joined Torino on loan until June 2021, with a start to his loan at Udinese. The purchase was subjected to a provisional commitment to buy.

He was sold to Fiorentina on July 4, 2022.

International career

Mandragora, a regular youth international, made his Italy U21 debut against Hungary on August 12th, 2015. He was selected in the 2017 FIFA U-20 World Cup in South Korea.

Mandragora made his international debut under Roberto Mancini, beginning in a 3–1 friendly loss to France in Nice on June 1, 2018.

He was appointed as the team's captain in the 2019 UEFA European Under-21 Championships.

Hearts 0-3 Fiorentina: In a Europa Conference League group stage match, the hosts loses

www.dailymail.co.uk, October 6, 2022
Hearts' hopes of progressing in the Europa Conference League were shattered on Thursday when Fiorentina at Tynecastle knocked them out of place. At the break, the cinch Premiership team trailed 2-0, but Lewis Neilson was sent early in the second half before they lost by a 3-0 loss in a one-sided match. Fiorentina climbed to second place in Group A after the success. The Edinburgh outfit will head to Florence for the rematch next week, knowing that they will almost definitely have to avoid defeating to qualify for the knockout phase.
