Richard Edison Uy Yap (born May 18, 1967) is a Chinese Filipino actor, singer, model, and businessman best known for his role as "Papa Chen" in My Binondo Girl and in the television series Be Careful with My Heart as Richard "Sir Chief" Lim.
Personal life
Yap was born and raised in Cebu City. He graduated from Sacred Heart School in Cebu and then to De La Salle University for College. Yap aspired to be chef in his younger years after coming from a family who loves to cook. Several food franchises, such as a gastropub and Asian cuisine restaurant, have been co-founded by Hen.
He married Melody Yap, with whom he has two children, Ashley and Dylan, in 1993.
Career
Yap began his acting career in ABS-CBN in 2011 with My Binondo Girl, where he portrayed Kim Chiu's father, Chen Sy.
Henry de Dios, a recurring character in Walang Hanggan, was played by Yap in 2012. However, Richard "Sir Chief" Lim's role in the daytime drama Be Careful with My Heart brought him to prominence in other nations and made him a household name.
