Rich Vos Life

Richard Ira Vos (born June 30, 1957) is an American stand-up comedian, actor, and podcast host with his partner, comedian Bonnie McFarlane.

Early life

In New Jersey, Vos was raised in a Jewish family who lived in a "all black neighborhood." When he was young, voters' parents divorced, but he did not graduate from high school. He became a huge influence as a child and cites acts on The Ed Sullivan Show as a major influence.

Personal life

Vos completed a one-month rehabilitation course in 1987, three years into his comeback from struggling with crack cocaine and alcohol use throughout his 20s. He has been clean since.

Vos has married twice; he and his first wife have two children, Jessica and Ellen, before they divorced. Bonnie McFarlane, a married comedian, appeared in September 2005. Rayna's daughter was born in 2007. To be closer to his children, Vos lives in Hillsborough Township, New Jersey.

Rich Vos Career

Career

Vos began his stand-up act in 1984 and stayed at it full-time as he "failed at everything else" and concentrated on local clubs. Vos was the first white comedian to appear on Def Comedy Jam on HBO in 1995, a program that typically featured African American comedians. Vos performed at the Woodstock 99 festival in July 1999, later naming it a highlight of his career. Vos received the Bistro Award for Outstanding Achievement as a Comedian in 2000. Vos appeared on the British television show People vs. Jerry Sadowitz in 2001, where he bounced and performed skits.

I'm Killing Here, Vos' first stand-up comedy collection, was released in 2001. In 2004, the DVD Votes were followed by an unedited, 55-minute performance at the Stress Factory in New Jersey, which was followed by an unedited, 55-minute performance. He went on to produce two half-hour specials on Comedy Central Presents.

Vos appeared on Tough Crowd with Colin Quinn from 2002 to 2004, a regular fixture. He ranked the show as one of his top picks to do because he was close to its filming location and because he was able to do it with his closest friends. On the first season of Last Comic Standing on NBC, Vos came in third. "The Don" by Cory Kahaney was given the nickname "The Don" during this time "perhaps because I was the most experienced comedian." Vos toured with Kahaney and Dave Mordal for eight months at the end of the season. In 2004, Vos was a finalist in its third season.

Vos appeared on the Opie and Anthony radio show, with jokes centered on his expense, with many of times referring to his speech impediment or lack of intelligence. He was responsible for bringing Patrice O'Neal, a fellow comedian, onto the program, who later became a popular regular visitor. Vos hosted a Saturday night with his wife Bonnie McFarlane when the show appeared on SiriusXM Radio. He appeared on the Opie and Anthony's Traveling Virus Comedy Tour in 2006 and 2007.

Vos produced three pilot episodes for a comedy series with McFarlane between 2006 and 2008, but no one was picked up by a network.

What Would You Do? He was featured in a segment of the television show What Would You Do?

Vos and McFarlane's own podcast, My Wife Hates Me, was launched in November 2011.

Vos' fifth comedy album V, of which took between one year and a half years to produce, was released in 2016. On the iTunes and Billboard release charts, it ranked first.

Vos made racial remarks about members of the audience based on their Indigenous ethnicity in 2022. Vos reportedly said, "They should all go back to their f—— wigwam," after several Indigenous people of the audience walked out, prompting the audience to leave. During his set, he reportedly used the word "gay" in a derogatory sense.
