Rhea Santos-de Guzman (born June 1, 1979) is a former broadcast journalist, television presenter, and newscaster in the Philippines.

She is best known for co-anchoring Unang Hirit's morning show and directing several news and public affairs services, including Reporter's Notebook and Tunay na Buhay.

She left the Philippines to study in Canada after 19 years as a broadcast journalist.

Early life

Rhea Santos was born in San Mateo, Rizal, on June 1, 1979, and spent the majority of her childhood in Marikina. She has an older brother and a younger brother. At the Academy of Marikina, she attended elementary and high school. She graduated magna cum laude at St. Paul's College Quezon City (now known as St. Paul University Quezon City), winning AB Mass Communications. Arnold Clavio (her future co-anchor in Unang Hirit) was one of her first year in college's first year of college's research into martial law. In her junior year in college, she completed an ABS-CBN internship.

It became apparent to her that she would like to be a broadcast journalist during her senior year in high school. Nevertheless, her childhood aspiration was to be a beauty queen, and her mother was steadfast in her. Career

Rhea Santos began working with an airline company and a PR company after graduating from college. She eventually decided to continue her aspirations to become a television journalist and started sending job applications to television broadcasting companies. In July 2000, GMA Network responded with an application and began to work as a segment producer. She had the opportunity to be one of the newscasters and hosts of GMA Network's morning show Unang Hirit for one day, temporarily replacing Miriam Quiambao, who had been missing for a day for a day. In 2001, she became a regular attendee of the show.

In 2003, she was drafted to anchor Frontpage's GMA Action Force, where she was also a field reporter interviewing various people, including criminal gangs in Tondo, Manila.
