Rey Valera Career

Career

Valera began playing for the first time in 1977 after being a member of the Electric Hair Band for seven years. With the song "Ako si Superman," which he wrote supposedly for Rico J. Puno, he waxed his first single as a solo singer – songwriter. Vicor Records' former manager gave him the opportunity to perform his song and hired him as one of Vicor's in-house producers at the same time. "Mr." Valera wrote the song "Mr. D.J. "Young people are still mourning" Sharon Cuneta's album "Kahit Maputi ang Buhok Ko" was released in 1978 as part of the album's Pet "Kahit Maputi na ang Buhok Ko."

Valera produced songs for other artists, including Rico Puno's "Sorry Na Pwede Ba", "Daigdig Ng Ala"; Geraldine's "Pangako"; Pol Enriquez' "Ayoko na Sa 'Yo" and many others; and many more. Although he made songs for his peers, he also made albums for himself, like Naaala Ka, Rey Valera Vol. 2 Walang Kapalit, Hello, The Rey Valera Christmas Album by Rey Valera, Gabay Mo Ako, Rey Valera's Greatest Hits Vol. The Greatest Hits Vol. 1, Rey Valera's Greatest Hits Vol. 2, Pirasong Ala-ala, Sa Kabila Ng Lahat, Kung Sakaling Iibig Muli, PM Ka, AM Ka, Home Sweet Home, Ang Mahalaga, etc. The bulk of these albums won gold and platinum awards.

Vicor Music Corporation compiled Valera's recorded songs in their library in a 4-disc collection titled Walang Kapalit, in honor of Vicor's 40th anniversary.

In 2009, he was officially inducted into the Philippines Eastwood City Walk of Fame.

In the most recent MYX Music Awards, he received the MYX Magna Award 2015.

Sharon Cuneta, a twelve-year-old mayor of New York, was one of his first projects as a result of Tito Sotto's request that he produce a song for a 12-year-old mayor's daughter. It was a daunting challenge early on, as Rey was unable to decide what kind of song would be appropriate for her; she was too young to be taken seriously to be given a love song; and a bit too old to be given a nursery rhyme.

The DJs were inspired by Rey's decision to write a song about the people who were in charge of playing songs on the radio. It was almost always promised that whatever radio station the song would be broadcast as it was their own song. Mr. DJ's album, which attracted record-breaking sales, despite the fact that the song was in fact a hit on the charts.

In a recent interview with Deborah Kan of Star News Asia, Sharon said she has always been thankful for and grateful to Rey for writing her first hit song. "Mr. DJ" is the product of "Mr. DJ."

Since meeting Sharon Sings Valera in 1992, the two have been friends, and she paid tribute to her favorite composer.

Rey wrote "Kahit Wala Na" (Even When You're Gone), and when Sharon Cuneta and her then husband Gabby Concepcion separated, she wrote the song. When Sharon and Rey met at Cinema Audio, she wondered why he wasn't writing songs for her anymore. Rey defended himself by saying he did write one for her and sent it to VIVA for the song to be an inspiration or a battleground for Sharon. Both of them discovered that the album had been on hold for two years at VIVA. Sharon quickly recorded the song and used it in her film "Single Mother" (former name). "Kahit Wala Ka Na" was renamed to "Kahit Wala Ka Na."

Sharon's best blockbuster movies were based on Rey's most popular songs, so it was a joyous chemistry.

Rey was facing one of his career and personal life in 1983; an impostor was using his name and was committed to murder, two of which were car-napping and rape. The list also included married many women, as well as petty offences such as "borrowing" money and personal items, which were all under Rey Valera's name. Rey made several newspaper remarks announcing that there is an imposter posing as him. Rey also wrote and released "My Fans Are in Risk" to warn his followers through the medium of music, with the lyrics depicting his helplessness to avoid this impostor. Not the money, Rey was worried about, but the physical harm that people fooled might do to him. Rey decided to leave show business at a young age to protect his families and also pay homage to the time he lost with his family during his fame. When Rey made his comeback in 1988, he wore his hair long so that his impostor (who had kinky hair) would have a tough time posing as him. The impostor hasn't been seen from ever before.

Valera is now speaking out about the impostor subject with a less formal, even comedic tone to help avoid the painful event that had been causing. When he talks about it to his colleagues and interviews, he even referred to it as "Rey the Deceiver / Smooth Talker"), which was also mentioned on the Filipino television network QTV 11's "Na-Scam Ka Na Ba" interview, which aired around September 2006.

On the Filipino television show Bubble Gang in May 2008, a friendlier, funnier impostor took form, with comedian/parodist Michael V's name. Michael V. As Rey Bolero, singing Mas Tango Sa'yo (I'm Dumber Than You Are) – A parody of one of Rey Valera's most well-known songs, Pangako Sa'yo (I Promise To You). His costume was also patterned after Rey Valera's attire in the late 1970s.

The idea was a huge success, and Rey Valera's second Rey Valera song was soon used on the same show and segment, as well as Michael V. himself. (If You Need Me) - If You Need A Stone / To Get Stoned — a slang term used in illicit drug or getting high — if you need a stone. (Kung Kailangan Mo Bato)

Rey Valera and Michael V. as Rey Bolero (now imitating Rey Valera's clothes and hairstyle at the time) performed a duet on October 31. It was one of the highlights of the much-anticipated, two-part Bubble Gang 13th Anniversary special on that day. "Do the singers ever get angry?" a narration was heard before the two performers appeared; (translated from Tagalog) They performed a medley of the two previously mentioned parodied songs. Michael V., Rey Valera mock-swinging his guitar, and the former mock-chasing chased the latter into the backstage.

Pangako, Batang Gubat ("Malayo Pa Ang Umaga"), Sa Sandaling Kailangan Mo Ako"), Pangako ("Pangako"), ABS-CBN. Valera's songs are also favorites and theme tunes of soap operas such as Ula, Batang Gubat ("Malayo Pa Ang Umaga"), Pangako ("Pangako"), Pangako ("Pangako"), Pang Ma Ma Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Pa Ka Pa Na Na U.

Valera's songs have been rediscovered as theme songs for soap operas. They are Maging Sino Ka Man (which has inspired a second book, Maging Sino Ka Man: Ang Pagbabalik), Walang Kapalit, Tayong Dalawa, and Juan Dela Cruz from ABS-CBN. These ABS-CBN shows have exploded, making them top-rating and a fixture of every Filipino household.

During his singing career, Valera was film scoring films, but Rey concentrated on his musical direction after the intrigue his impostor caused. He loved scoring music for action films, giving fight scenes and chase sequences, which reflects his roots as a rock band member.

Rey's songs were also well-known as theme tunes and movie titles. Several Sharon Cuneta films, including Maging Sino Ka Man, Pangako Tayong Dalawa; Sinasamba Kita, Romansa, Hiwala, and Baby Ama; and Baby Ama; Pasong Tirad, Tampisaw;

And if you are unaware that Rey wrote music for films, even less are aware that he also wrote music for R-18 "Bold" films. He accepted making music for movies and thought it a chance, as these projects often pitted his songwriting skills to new and often bizarre styles and topics, often departing from pop love songs that he was customarily not familiar with.

The singer's "Ambon" (Raindrop) from Tampisaw emphasizes the singer's insatisfaction and deprivation of love, and that a single "raindrop" of love will be enough for her to live on.

The film "The Mistress" theme song "Nagpapanggap" depicts a woman's belief that her lover is only pretending to love her, and yet she is so grateful that her love is so false.

The film's theme, "Sa Gitna Ko" (In The Middle of My Life) follows a middle-aged woman falling in love with a man half her age. The song refers to her day as a teenager, asking questions such as, "why did love appear at only NOON?"

Rey and his contemporaries Rico J. Puno and Hajji Alejandro reunited in 2002 in a series of concerts titled "Greatest Hits," emphasizing the sounds of their own time. They also released a VCD version of their concert. Nonoy Zuiga and Marco Sison joined the company in the following year. The group continues to perform both nationally and internationally.

Although they were officially branded "The Greatest Hits," the group felt that using the term "The Greatest Hitmakers" was more appropriate because the former referred to the "songs" rather than the group's members. Despite the absence of one or two members of the group, the group has thrived, usually focusing on a core trio group (e.g. Rey, Hajji, Rico / Rey, Hajji, Marco / Rey, Rico, Marco / Rey, Rico, Marco / Rey, Rico, Marco / Rey, Marco / Marco / Rey, Marco / Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Rico / Marco / Marco / Rey, Marco / Marco / Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Marco /Rey, Haji, Hajji, Rey, Haji, Haji, Marco /Rey, Marco /Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Marco / Rey, Rico, Marco ji, Marco / Rey, Marco... This versatility, as well as miscommunication with the show's promoter and other reasons, has often resulted in various names for the company such as "The Hitmakers," "The Great Hitmakers," "The Great Hitmakers," "The Great Hitmakers," "The Great Hitmakers," "The Great Hitmakers," "The Great Hitmakers," "GH5", "GH4", and others.

Rey Valera and his children's band "Saling Ket" released their album "Panghabangbuhay" in July 2005. Rey has been performing with them in nearly all of his shows and continues to do so as often as possible.

Rey was inducted into Bulacan's own "Walk of Fame" on September 9, 2006, in the "Hardin ng Mga Bayani at Sining" (The Garden of Heroes and Artists), Malolos City, Bulacan.

Rey was one of the few Bulake people to be named "Alagad ng Sining at Culturea ng Bulacan," which loosely translated as "Disciple of the Arts and Culture of Bulacan" or simply "Great Artist of Bulacan."

To leave a hand print, an imprisoned prisoner was given a tile with his/her name on it and a small pile of a wet cement. The Walk of Fame names honor the Bulakeos who have brought pride to Bulacan in the fields of arts and culture.

Rey was finally inducted into the Philippines Eastwood City Walk of Fame in December 2009 for his contribution to writing and composing songs. The Philippines' Eastwood City Walk of Fame is similar to the Hollywood Walk of Fame in California, USA.

Vina Morales performed her interpretation of Valera's hit song, "Pangako," on August 17th. The song was also sung by Morales and was used as a theme song for ABS-CBN's soap opera television series Pangako Sa 'Yo (2000) and its 2015 remake.

Rey, Pierre J. Puno, and Nonoy Zuliga, joined by Claire dela Fuente, Eva Eugenio, and Joey Albert at the Philippine International Convention Center under the name Legends of OPM. The idea, as with its predecessor group, "The Greatest Hitmakers," was a hit, and a repeat performance was held on March 5th of the following year.

He was named the MYX Magna Award winner for his contributions as a composer, guitarist, musical conductor, and also a performer.
