He was the MYX Celebrity VJ for the month of October, his first appearance in October.

Labajo was one of the contestants in We Love OPM: The Celebrity Sing-Offs on ABS-CBN, which aired from May 14, 2016, to July 17, 2016. Bailey May was the finalist of The Voice Kids, Season 2 Finalist Kyle Echarri and PBB 737 Teens. The CelebrityTeam's name was reportedly "Poon and Fork," Labajo jokingly suggested to their mentor Richard Poon, but Poon declined Labajo's witty suggestion. And so, the three of them decided that Voice Next Door would be their Celebrity Team's name. They appeared in Martin Nievera, Pangarap na Bituin by Sharon Cuneta, Lalake, Hagibis, Paano by Gary Valenciano, Kung Tayo by Rey Valera, Ok My Girls Celebrity Team, Mako Ylona Garcia, Ylona Garcia, and Sebastian Sayang by Vice Gwapito by Rico J. Puno, Sayang na Sayang by Vice Ganda and APO Hiking Society

During the taping of those episodes, Labajo was not present in certain episodes due to fever or otherwise having another schedule. Labajo was largely absent from week nine to the semi-finals due to his participation in Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7 in Vietnam and the Philippines. Kyle Echarri and Bailey May, his co-workers, were the only ones left in the team, and so the team was still intact. In the Semi-finals of the competition, the Voice Next Door was disqualified.

After, Labajo with Andrea Brillantes and the other Kapamilya Teen Stars' production in ASAP last July 3, 2016, Robi Domingo and Toni Gonzaga have revealed that he will be joining the new Pinoy Big Brother: Lucky 7. Labajo expressed some of his apprehensions and said he is excited to be a part of the reality show. he, Yassi Pressman Jinri Park, Mccoy De Leon, and Nikko Natividad were the first five celebrity housemates on "Day 0." They were flown from Manila to Vietnam for the first time out of the country experience. Despite this, Jinri, JK, and Hideo were the only ones left homeless due to the visa and immigration issues.

Following the visa and visa problems, the three children were finally allowed to land in Vietnam on "Day 2." They were tied and blindfolded inside the Big Brother Vietnam House's living room, causing the housemates to unchain them in 30 minutes. They were luckily, because they were able to complete their mission.

Labajo returned to the PBB House on "Day 19" because the girl housemates were able to guess him while blindfolded.

Labajo suggested something during his second Lucky Task, but Nonong and Chacha refused to accept his idea, making him feel ignored. Later on, Labajo went to the confession room to get some Kuya advice. He cries for a little inside because he didn't have any worth in the confession room because he was the youngest of the celebrity housemates. Kuya told him to be more open to his housemates because they were his second family. Nonong and Chacha suspect he wasn't feeling well, so they asked him what was wrong. Labajo didn't know anything about it, and both Nonong and Chacha offered him the opportunity to control the puppets, but the puppets refused and stuck with playing the guitar for the song of their water puppet performance performance. The three of them met again after a fruitful job before discovering that they were being dismissed by Labajo because he was ignoring their ideas. In addition, Kuya's suggestion to be open to them.

Kuya inquired Labajo in the confession room about his personal life on July 15 in the show's episode. He then told Cebu about his experience, how difficult it was for him, and how he felt about it. Kuya greeted him with a letter expressing his dissatisfaction with his mother's request. He also revealed that he was at his mother's funeral and that he was present. Kuya told him that his mother is extremely proud of him, whatever she is located. Kuya has also told him that he has come far from where he was born, and that as he gets older, he will experience more so that he could live his life as a child as well.

Labajo's helper on the big jump Challenge was his younger half-brother Louie Stephan Labajo, who shocked him when he first saw him after many months. Labajo was in the confession room after the Big Jump Challenge. Kuya asked how his brother was doing, and he told him that it was a neighborly type. Since his mother spent more time with her family than with him, he expressed jealousy for his mother's second daughter. He also said that he and his two younger brothers were never close, making him swear that he always wanted a sibling. Despite being referred to earlier, he wasn't familiar with them. He cried, but Kuya told him that he's still young and he can spend his time with his brothers because dreams can be fulfilled.

On Day 23, Labajo was unable to complete the Big Jump Challenge, causing him to be evicted along with Nonong, Elisse, Yassi, and Hideo. In addition, Vivoree Esclito, one of the housemates who didn't have a partner at the time, appeared during the PBB's Lucky 7 Teen Edition on Day 32, a special edition. Kuya had asked Vivoree's own song arrangement, which he did.

Labajo was the MYX Celebrity VJ for the month of January, his second time since being in his first position since October 2015. "Demonyo," "Forever" a wedding song, and "Move On," two tracks that he composed while he was still in PBB, are among his album's eight tracks. It also comes in an EDM-like version.

In the premiere of Joven Tan's indie film "Tatlong Bibe" on February 13, he made his first film appearance, joined by his former contestant, Lyca Gairanod, Marco Masa, Raikko Mateo, and others. He is Eddie Garcia's grandson in the film and is paired up with Sharlene San Pedro. On March 1, the film's first screening in the United States took place.

Lucas Noble's film A Love to Last finds him to improve in acting as a result of the audience's scathing. "I ask them, is it okay na ganito, baka masira ako, or something?" It's actually a good kasi effective daw 'yung acting ko, tapos sabi nila. In an interview just recently, Sabi nila I should be proud kasi naapektuhan ang mga tao." "I am flattered kasi for me; I am not strong enough," I am told, making it all the more enjoyable stuff. Actually, pero walo pa akong acting workshops, so I'm really planning on doing some acting lessons kasi I really need it." JK said A Love to Last was his best break so far, and that he's fortunate to be working with actors much more advanced than he is, such as Ian Veneracion, who plays his father, and Bea Alonzo, Anton's fiancé.

JK announced that he is forming a band named after him in 2018. In June 2018, he released his most popular song, "Buwan" (moon in English), and it's a soulful alternative rock song.

Labajo said he wanted to work in the entertainment industry since he was a young boy because he wanted to leave a mark in the world. He was also influenced by his late mother, who wished he would win a television singing competition. Daniel Day-Lewis, Joel Torre, and several other well-known jazz artists, like Django Reinhardt and Bill Evans, have been posting both in interviews and on social media. He is also a student photographer.
