Rana Rahimpour (born 9 January 1983) is a British-Iranian journalist who works with the BBC World Service.

Rahimpour, the senior presenter of BBC Persian TV, is a Senior Presenter.

She has hosted and covered many important Iranian and international news for the network, including Iran's nuclear program, Iran's presidential elections 2009 and its aftermath, as well as BBC Persian television and BBC World Service's Iran Presidential election of 2013.

Rahimpour, a bilingual reporter, covers Iranian politics on several BBC websites, including the flagship news show Newsnight.

Rahimpour has appeared on News At Ten since the start of 2018.

Rahimpour was born in Tehran, Iran, on January 9th. She was born in Tehran. Rahimpour went to university in Iran and spent the first 25 years of her life there. She studied English-Persian Translation at Azad University and accounting at Alzahra University. She went to London in 2008 to work with the BBC Persian television. After she returned from South Korea and was welcomed by crowds of anti-hijab demonstrators, Elnaz Rekabi (left, right, and inset) was promised that she would return to her family. Rather, she briefly visited her family but was then whisked away for government interviews. The interviews were followed by a meeting and photo shoot with Hamid Sajjadi, the Islamic Republic's Minister of Sports and Youth. Elnaz wears a black baseball cap and hoodie, tracksuit bottoms, and trainers in the photographs. Dawood Rekabi, who is also a rock climber and wearing a yellow t-shirt, is second in the picture. While Elnaz was reportedly coerced to do TV interviews while she was there, which would be broadcast in the coming days. These interviews have been rumored to indicate that she is happy when in fact she is not free and her safety cannot be guaranteed.
