Screen career

Vega made her television debut in Menudo es mi padre, a Spanish television series that starred rumba singer El Fary. In 1997, she appeared in two other series: Más que amigos and teen drama Compaeros.

She made her film debut in Zapping in 1999. She appeared in the David Menkes film I Will Survive (Sobreviviré), as Emma Suárez and Juan Diego Botto.

Vega's TV show 7 Vidas, 1999, had a blast. The series, which was branded as a Spanish Friends, later became one of the country's most well-loved domestic sitcoms. Laura, a perky Andalusian girl who had to stick with David, who had recently come out of a coma, was played by Vega. Despite missing Vega, the series was broadcast on Telecinco and ended on April 12, 2006, though without Vega.

She appeared in Sex and Lucia, Julio Médem's film in 2001, bringing her to a larger audience. However, she gained a lot of attention, particularly in the 2004 James L. Brooks American film Spanglish opposite Adam Sandler. In 2006, she co-starred with American actor Morgan Freeman in the independent film 10 Items or Less, directed by Brad Silberling. In 2008, she co-starred with Gabriel Macht, Samuel L. Jackson, and Scarlett Johansson in The Spirit. Vega appeared in Michele Placido's film Vallanzasca – The Angels of Evil, 2011 Vega.

Vega also works as a model; she has joined 1/One Management in New York City. Penélope Cruz was the face for L'Oreal Spain in May 2011.

She appeared on the third season of the reality cooking competition MasterChef Celebrity in 2018.

In 2019, Vega de Lobos, based on the 1986 original telenovela of the same name, appeared in Televisa. In Rambo: Last Blood, she co-starred with Sylvester Stallone in the same year.
