Early years
Pauline Murray was born in Waterhouses, County Durham, England, on March 8, 1958, and her parents later moved to Ferryhill. She left school at the age of sixteen, studied art at Darlington College, and then worked at odd jobs. Murray, an 18-year-old Murray, saw the Sex Pistols perform in May 1976, and she and her Ferryhill comrades became Pistols devotees, earning the title "Durham Contingent" (coined by the NME).
Personal life
Murray married Peter Lloyd, Penetration's road manager, but after the 1980s, she and her husband separated, but not before the publication of Searching for Heaven. She and Robert Blamire married and moved to Liverpool as a pair. She now lives in Newcastle upon Tyne. Murray has two children.
