Paolo Nutini Life

Paolo Giovanni Nutini (born 9 January 1987) is a Scottish singer, songwriter, and guitarist from Paisley.

These Streets (2006), Nutini's debut album, debuted at number three on the UK Albums Chart.

Sunny Side Up (2010), the company's sequel, debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart.

Both albums have been rated platinum by the British Phonographic Industry after 5 years Nutini's third studio album, Caustic Love, was released in April 2014.

Music critics have lauded the album.

Caustic Love debuted on the UK Album Charts in June 2014 and was named platinum by the British Prime Minister in late July 2014.

Early life

Nutini was born in Paisley, Scotland, and he has a younger sister. Alfredo, his father, is of Italian descent from Barga in Tuscany, but his mother, Linda, is Scottish. He was supposed to follow his father into the family fish and chip store chain. PACE Youth Theatre was on display in PACE Youth Theatre as a child. He was first encouraged to sing by his music-loving grandfather, Giovanni "Jackie" Nutini, and a tutor at his school, St Andrews Academy, who recognized his talent.

Nutini left school to work as a roadie and to sell t-shirts for Scottish band Speedway. He spent three years in the music business and on tour. He later worked as a studio hand at Glasgow's Park Lane Studio. It was here that he began demoning songs, began writing with Jim Duguid, and Speedway's drummer.

David Sneddon's return to Paisley, his hometown town, was a huge chance, when his younger family friend signed him up for his first live show 102. Clyde 1. Sneddon was postponed, and Nutini was given the opportunity to perform a few songs on stage during the wait as the winner of an impromptu pop quiz. Brendan Moon, another participant of the audience, was enthralled with the crowd's enthusiastic reception, and his colleague, Mike Bawden, was hired as his manager. Nutini is still managed by Mike Bawden.

Nutini, a teenager from London, performed regularly at The Bedford pub in Balham with local Singer-Songwriter Charlie Wallis. Two live acoustic spots on Radio London, The Hard Rock Café, and support slots for The Rolling Stones, Amy Winehouse, and KT Tunstall were among the other radio and live appearances that followed. Nutini began singing with his eyes closed during his entire performances.

Personal life

Nutini had an 8-year on-again, off-again relationship with Scottish marketing graduate and model Teri Brogan. The pair met at St Andrew's Academy in Paisley and began dating when they were 15. He was intimately involved with Irish TV host and model Laura Whitmore after their split. Nutini lived with English actress and model Amber Anderson from 2014 to 2016.

In a June 2014 interview, Nutini said that he has smoked cannabis every day of his life, beginning at the age of 16. Nutini also holds an Honorary Doctorate from his hometown university, Paisley University, the University of the West of Scotland.

A biography about Nutini was published under the heading Paolo Nutini: Coming Up Easy on February 22, 2015. Colin MacFarlane, a novelist, wrote the biography.

Nutini was living in Paisley, PA, as of 2017, and he played karaoke there in 2019.

Paolo donated over £10,000 to Tiny Changes by buying and raffling off the Chewbacca mask worn on stage by fellow Scottish musician Lewis Capaldi at TRNSMT in July 2019.

Paolo has been a Celtic FC fan for as long as he has been a fan.

Paolo Nutini Career

Career

Nutini's first appearance saw him sign to Atlantic Records in May 2005, just after his 18th birthday. In May 2006, he released his first single "These Streets" as a free download; this was followed by his next single "Last Request" which was unveiled on July 4, 2006, ranked at number five on the UK Singles Chart. Nutini appears in the film "Last Request" as a robber, but it is not revealed until the end. "Jenny Don't Be Hasty" was Nutini's third album and debuted on September 25, 2006, reaching the top of the UK Singles Chart. Nutini's fourth single, "Rewind," was Nutini's fourth single. On December 4, 2006, it was announced on December 4, 2006, and it reached number twenty-one on the UK Singles Chart.

These Streets, Ken Nelson's debut album (who has also worked with Coldplay and Gomez), debuted on July 17th, 2006 and quickly made it to the UK album charts at number three. Many of the songs on the album, including "Last Request" and "Rewind," were inspired by Teri Brogan's turbulent personal relationship, and "Jenny Don't Be Hasty" is a true tale about encounters with an older woman. "The album is a small glimpse of some of the activities I have gone through in the last three years," Nutini himself says on his official website. Nutini's "It Must Be Love" was covered by Labi Siffre's "It Must Be Love" on BBC Radio 1's Radio 1 beginning in 1967.

Nutini appeared at a number of venues around the country throughout 2006, including King Tut's Wah Hut in Glasgow, a TV appearance on Later with Jools Holland, Carnegie Hall in Glasgow, The Montreux Jazz Festival, Oxegen, and T in the Park. He loved the Rolling Stones in Vienna and was invited to perform with them again at the Don Valley Stadium in August 2006, as part of a European tour in the fall. Nutini appeared on BBC Radio 1's Big Weekend in Dundee in May 2006.

On the second day of the festival, Nutini appeared on the famous Pyramid Stage in June 2007. Nutini performed on Live Earth at Wembley Stadium on July 7, 2007, with his set including a cover of "What A Wonderful World," a classic pop tune performed by Bob Thiele, George David Weiss, and George Douglas. He appeared in T in the Park, Scotland, the following day. On December 10, 2007, he appeared at the Ahmet Ertegun Tribute Concert, the first full live concert performance by Led Zeppelin in 27 years. Volt MediaFix, a Scottish independent television company, produced a one-off documentary about Nutini's US tour. On Thursday 7 June, the BBC2 show was scheduled to air in Scotland and on Sky channel 990 throughout the rest of the United Kingdom.

Nutini's second studio album Sunny Side Up debuted at number one on June 1, 2009. On May 25, the album's first single, "Candy," was released. He appeared on "Coming Up Easy" on Friday Night with Jonathan Ross on Friday Night. On August 10, this was the second single to be released on the album, and it debuted at number 62 in the UK Singles Chart on September 16, 2009. On the Tonight Show with Conan O'Brien, Nutini performed "Coming Up Easy" on September 10, 2009. "Pencil Full of Lead" was the album's third single.

The album received a mixed critical reception. Any of us noticed the change away from the sound of the debut album's tonal bandwagons. "His joyous second album organically blends soul, country, folk, and the brash, horny energy of a ragtime swing," Neil McCormick of The Daily Telegraph was also positive. Some reviewers were less impressed. Caroline Sullivan of The Guardian called it "not bad," and the opening track "10/10" was described as "jaunty enough to make you retch."

The album debuted at number one on the UK Albums Chart, with sales of over 60,000 copies, facing strong competition from Love & War, co-male solo artist Daniel Merriweather's debut album. The album debuted at number two on the Irish Albums Chart, and a week later, it soared to the top of the charts. The album has been one of the year's best UK album sales. The album went from number 31 to number five on the UK Albums Chart this week, the week of Monday, October 19th, making the album more popular than The Saturdays' second album. Sunny Side Up debuted on the UK Album Charts for the second time on January 3, 2010, making the album the first Number one album in the United Kingdom since 2010.

Nutini's third album, Caustic Love, was announced in December 2013. On January 27, the album's first single, "Scream (Funk My Life Up), was released. "Unqualified triumph" has been described by the Independent newspaper as "the best UK R&B album since Rod Stewart and Joe Cocker's 1970s blue-eyed-soul heyday. Apple's Best Album in iTunes' 'Best of 2014' was selected on October 8, 2014,' a prestigious award. Nutini performed in North America, Europe, South Africa, Australia, and New Zealand on an 18-month tour following the introduction of Caustic Love. Due to tonsillitis, Nutini was compelled to cancel shows in Glasgow, Cardiff, and London in October 2014. In August 2015, Nutini headlined a sold-out show to 35,000 people at Bellahouston Park in Glasgow.

Nutini took a break in 2016 after extensive touring in support of Caustic Love, but the Welsh fan in Newport, Wales, on 20 July, paid an emotional tribute. Nutini will headline the Concert in the Gardens, Edinburgh's biggest annual street festival, on September 20th. Tickets were sold out in a record-breaking three hours leading to an unprecedented second performance (named "The Night Afore") being announced on December 30.

Nutini revealed on May 2022 that his fourth studio album, Last Night in the Bittersweet, would be released on July 2022, more than eight years after the debut of Caustic Love. He also performed two songs from the album, "Through the Echoes" and "Lose It." He headlined the TRNSMT festival on July 8, 2022.

Scandal-hit arts quango Creative Scotland 'faces axe' amid serious allegations of mismanagement, government insiders claim

www.dailymail.co.uk, September 4, 2024
Scotland's beleaguered arts quango is set to be axed after the Mail revealed serious allegations of mismanagement. Culture Secretary Angus Robertson announced a 'review' of Creative Scotland to 'ensure its operations and structure are optimal to the needs of the culture sector'. The Mail understands the controversial £96million organisation faces being scrapped after a series of controversies including a decision to fund a sex show. In another development, funding which had been cut for artists was reinstated yesterday, following a backlash by artists who had warned of a looming 'crisis' for the sector.

Wokery, witchcraft and hard core porn - how Scotland's £96million arts quango lost the plot

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 30, 2024
As a self-styled witch, Dr Alice Tarbuck offers online Tarot card readings for £50 an hour and courses in how to embrace the 'magic' in everyday life. Her freelance lessons run throughout the year and are described as 'perfect for anyone with an interest in the history, ethics and practice of witchcraft'. But the rest of the time the author and poet has another role - as a 'literature officer' for controversial arts quango Creative Scotland, currently at the centre of a political firestorm. It is supposed to support artists by doling out large sums of public money but recently closed a vital fund, sparking a backlash from the artistic community - outraged at what they saw as their betrayal by fat-cat bureaucrats on six-figure salaries. Whether Dr Tarbuck, with her Tarot and witchcraft skills, saw this row coming is unknown - but we can reveal that she was disciplined by her well-remunerated superiors for using some dark arts of her own.

Arts quango branded 'a cash machine for the middle classes and their friends' amid row over funding cuts

www.dailymail.co.uk, August 30, 2024
Scotland's controversial arts quango has been condemned as 'secretive' and 'ideologically driven' in a series of scathing attacks. Creative Scotland - which has cut funding intended to support artists - was also accused of being undemocratic and 'elitist'. Writers lined up to criticise the public body for being 'opaque' and 'over-bureaucratic', as calls grew for radical reform of arts funding. The broadsides by leading artistic figures comes as a Mail investigation raises serious questions over alleged mismanagement at Creative Scotland. It reveals an employee tasked with helping authors was the subject of a complaint after trying to prevent a bookshop from stocking a book which she deemed to be transphobic.
