O'Shea Jackson Jr. and Kimberly Woodruff were born in Los Angeles, California, to O'Shea Jackson Sr., better known as Ice Cube, and Kimberly Woodruff. Jackson was born in San Fernando Valley and is the second of four children. Darrell and Shareef are his brothers, as well as a sister, Kareema. Darrell is also a rapper under the name Doughboy, which is the name of the character portrayed in his first film, Boyz n the Hood. In Straight Outta Compton, a biographical film about N.W.A., it was announced in June 2014 that Jackson would play his father, Ice Cube. The film was released on August 14, 2015, to rave reviews.
