Nicolás Alejandro Tagliafico (born 31 August 1992) is an Argentine footballer who plays as a left back for Eredivisie club Ajax.
Because of his "lung-busting stamina, excellent technique and continuous enterprise", as well as his playing position and club, he has been compared to the Internazionale and Argentina full-back Javier Zanetti, formerly also of Banfield.
Club career
Tagliafico made his professional debut for Banfield on a 21 away win over Tigre for the fifth fixture of the 2011 Clausura, with the former captain coming on as a replacement on the 72nd minute. Marcelo Bustamante's suspension made him a starter in the upcoming game, a 22 draw with Huracán. Tagliafico and Real Murcia, a Spanish club, agreed to a one-year loan agreement in 2012.
He moved to Independence for an undisclosed transfer fee and made his professional debut for the club in 2015 during a 32 away victory over Newell's Old Boys. Tagliafico will cap the team that won the 2017 Copa Sudamericana.

Tagliafico has competed in all three youth groups of Argentina's national team: under-15, under-17, and under-20. Tagliafico was a member of Argentina's national under-20 football team at the 2011 FIFA U-20 World Cup in Colombia; however, he missed Argentina's final kick against Portugal, resulting in Argentina's elimination 5–4 on penalties (Cartagena, 13 August 2011).
He was selected in Argentina's final 23 man squad for the 2018 World Cup in Russia in May 2018. He also competed in the 2019 Copa América, and with Argentina, he took third place in a 2–1 victory over Chile in the third round.
He was one of Lionel Scaloni's final Argentina 28-man team for the 2021 Copa América in June 2021.
He is the only foreign player to have won at both national and international level (Argentina, Copa América 2021) at the Maracaná stadium.
