Natalie West (born Natalie Neal West; January 23, 1956) is an American television, film, and stage actress best known for her role as Crystal Anderson-Conner on the 1988–2018 TV series Roseanne.
Career
When she appeared in several plays in Chicago area theaters in the early 1980s, West's career began in the early 1980s. Crystal Anderson Conner, Roseanne's companion and Dan's stepmother on Roseanne, was her big break. She appeared on seasons three and four as well as a as a regular guest star before and afterward. In 1995, she made her last appearance in the season eight premiere. She went from film and television to focusing on her stage work shortly after. She appeared in the 2018 revival of the show. However, ABC cancelled the revival after a single season on May 29, 2018, following Barr's insensitive remarks regarding Valerie Jarrett (an advisor of former President Barack Obama).
She appeared in Life Sentence, an independent film released in 2004. She appeared in a few other independent films over the years. She appeared in her first film role in the independent comedy-drama film Nate & Margaret, playing Margaret in 2012. She has continued to perform in many Chicago theater productions, including with A Red Orchid Theatre, where she is an ensemble member.
