She began her career as an infant, appearing in the television series Simon and the Witch in 1987.

Naomie Harris was born in Islington, London, where she was raised on September 6th. Carmen Harris, who is sometimes referred to as Lisselle Kayla, migrated from Jamaica to London as a child with her parents. Brian Clarke, a fashion designer, migrated from Trinidad to the United Kingdom and has ancestors from British, Grenadian, and Guyanese ancestors. They separated before Harris was born, and she was raised by her mother. Harris grew up in a council flat in Finsbury Park. Harris has two younger half-siblings after her mother remarried and has two younger half-siblings. Her mother served as a screenwriter on EastEnders and now works as a healer.
She attended St Marylebone School in London. Harris studied acting as an infant before attending Woodhouse College as a sixth-form student. She graduated from Pembroke College, Cambridge, England, in 1998, with a degree in social and political sciences. Harris attended the Bristol Old Vic Theatre School.
Personal life
Harris was diagnosed with scoliosis around 11, about 11. The disease progressed rapidly into her teenage years, which necessitated a spinal fusion; it took her a month to recover fully, and she had to learn how to walk again. Harris suffered with adenomyosis as a child.
